It's another good reason why the electoral college is preferable to a national popular vote. We shouldn't govern based solely on impacts to large population centers.

Trump begged New York to shut down, and Cuomo kept them open and lied about the danger. They shouldn't be getting any Federal money from the stimulus.

I would say there is a real strong chance that they could enact marshal law in NYC and shutdown the NYC metro and seal the virus into the city proper. Going to suck and the death rate will spike even more, but it will stop the spread by those now fleeing NYC

Even with NY's poor performance to date, as a nation we are doing so well on a per capita basis that literally dozens (2 dozen, for sure) of nations ahead of us in cases per capita and deaths per capita.
Still a big fight ahead, but no nation is better in any kind of fight than we are.
