Down here in one of the bad john areas of the country a 5 or 6 year old kid was on his front porch watering his mom's plants and was hit with a stray bullet.
The kid was on the news (why you would want your kid doing interviews is another story) Ill never forget in recounting the story the child said "I was just out here on the porch and they buss a cap in mi leg". Where the heck does a small kid come up with that language? And so nonchalant about it.

We hadn't heard of Juneteenth until Biden made it a holiday, but after all of the violence on its inaugural day of federal observance, we will remember to stay home next June 19 or wear flak jackets if we need to go out. This holiday features a different kind of fireworks.
