Did you notice that the USA story you linked was an opinion piece by Margot Cleveland, of the Catholic Woman's Forum. Of course you took everything written in this opinion piece as gospel without a second thought.

Cleveland's whole paragraph about Michell, the Republican interviewer was bullshite. Mitchell was the one who took it upon herself to question Kavanaugh about the July 1st calendar entry. The Repubs shut her down immediately and didn't allow her to ask another question the entire hearing.

The "contradicting" evidence were affidavits from Kavanaugh, Judge, and he other two guys who were said to at the incident, wherein they all said only that they didn't remember being at a party like the one Ford had described.

Of course the Republicans did not allow any of these (except Kavanaugh) to testify at the hearing -- not even Judge.

And you can dance round the peripheral facts all you want, but you can't displace the facts of the July 1st calendar entry, Ford's description of her meeting with Judge, and her testimony that incident party was to be followed by another party -- like the party the calendar described.
