As a naturalized American citizen and LEGAL immigrant to this great country, I will never support illegal immigration and the plague it has become for the US. America is not the dumpster of the world and I couldn't care less what some guys in funny robes do or say. They shouldn't use the pulpit for politics, period, full stop.

In YOUR opinion. To which you are entitled but which is rather meaningless to me.

I've come to the realization we will never be able to deport the ten or twenty million illegals in this country. That's a lot of people and Trump has 44 months left.

If I were to take anybody, say Trump, based off his quotes alone, wouldn’t I be depriving myself of some pretty crucial understanding?

His thinking and action on these matters are consistent with the Catholic Church going back . Immigration is not some new subject to the RCC.

How consistent is the Catholic Church on this? They talk about the suffering the US causes by deporting illegal immigrants, but then give a 15-year ban to anybody who enters Vatican City illegally. And if a person breaks that ban, they are imprisoned for up to 5 years.

Do as I say, not as I do does not seem like a policy steeped in consistency..

Why are people surprised a pope is against deportations? I'll never understand.

Idk maybe because they live behind the WALLS of the Vatican and kick everyone out every night and close the gates?

Only select people are allowed in the interior of the Vatican.

Yet they lecture other people against doing exactly what they do

When they tear down the Vatican walls and let anyone in at any time. Maybe I will listen to the massive hypocrites.

I always find it interesting Protestants being quick to accuse Catholics/The Church of progressivism. The entire reason you exist is progressivism

25 thousand “denominations” later and here we are

Coincidentally we’re actually a split off from them. Ideological differences when it came to crockpots vs covered dishes at church banquets.
