She volunteered and campaigned for Obama twice. Trump was just the next flavor up.

Doesn't even make logical sense

Trump is clearly the tougher path forward. Clearly there are leftist candidates she could get behind if that were her goal.

I don't live in Arizona, so I'm not speaking as an insider. But we are talking a John McCain Republican type state. I'm not going to blame any former Obama supporter for coming over - and the state is getting what they deserve for electing the current open borders Governor they elected.

Her being a professional communicator/self-promoter and going from Obama/pro-abortion advocate to MAGA overnight casts a lot of shadow on that conversion experience in my view.

A story played over and over again in politics.

Its a disgusting game. To get elected, its impossible to be honest.

Ron Paul told the truth, and paid the price for it.

Opportunists say what is convenient, and are eternally rewarded.

In some ways, yes in others no

I don't think there is anything akin to Trump's coattails in modern politics. If you're a podcaster or influencer or have candidacy aspirations, you can say the right things and wear the hat and if he notices you, you're immediately viable to some extent

I don't think there is anything of the sort on the D side (especially for a white woman in 2024)

If Gallego, who is literally a Maduro/Castro disciple of Marxism, wins in Arizona, it says a whole lot more about the sorry state of Arizona than it does about Lake.

I really want to win that senate seat because the dem is a radical. Is there really nobody else out there for the gop to nominate?

There are a lot of people over age 55 that use to be Democrats, not uncommon at all, Ronald Reagan was a Democrat, he was a decent Republican president.

Not only that, she saw the light almost simultaneously with her foray into major politics

How fortuitous

Crazy how that stuff works.

Must be a superpower, it would take me years to fit it all together.

It used to be a reliably Republican state. Used to be.

Political career
Party switches
Lake at a campaign event on October 2, 2021, with a thin blue line flag

Lake was a member of the Republican Party until November 3, 2006,[32] when she changed her registration to become an independent. She registered as a Democrat on January 4, 2008, the day after the Iowa Democratic presidential caucuses were won by Obama.[32] Lake returned to being a Republican on January 31, 2012. She explained leaving the Republican Party in 2006 as a reaction to the then-ongoing Iraq and Afghanistan wars. She had supported John Kerry in 2004 and Barack Obama in 2008.[32] She also made several donations to Democratic presidential candidates.[32][33]

After launching her campaign for governor in 2021, Lake cited Trump, Ronald Reagan, and Arizona Republican Party chair Kelli Ward, all former Democrats, as precedent for her party-switching.[34]

OH NOZ! SHE CAME TO HER SENSES!

BUT MUH OPPORTUNIST!

SHAME ON REAGAN AND TRUMP AS WELL! HURR DURR!

No wonder she's a terrible candidate. She has terrible judgment.

She is absolutely terrible

A know-nothing former TV reporter who has made a name for herself stirring the pot and "fighting"

She is no conservative, voted for Obama and was a "not-my-president" melter following Trump's first election

She is a fraud and anyone that falls for her shtick is a clown

One of your alters would have posted a link. If JJ posted this you would be running to the help board saying no link.
