New mortality data in - truly chilling

Basically, life expectancy in the US is 5 years less than in the UK for the vast majority of our population.
That is just shocking.

I never realized how truly American the opioid problem is. Systemic failure.

What is causing these gaps? Shockingly, America’s mortality problem is driven primarily by deaths among the young. One statistic in particular stood out: one in 25 American five-year-olds today will not make it to their 40th birthday.
That is just shocking.
quote:
While Americans and Britons living in the richest neighbourhoods of their respective countries have similar, high life expectancies, at the bottom end it’s a different story. People born in the very poorest pockets of Blackpool are expected to live fully five years more than the poorest in the US.
This would be damning enough, but we’ve not yet accounted for the fact that the richest Americans are so much richer than their British counterparts. Once we do, Britain pulls clear at every income level. Someone with a net household income of about £65,000 or $100,000 will live to an average age of 85 in England, but only 80 in the US.

Gotta wonder if all the vaccines are also causing early deaths.

If it isnt vaccines its the poison they load into our food and water.

Fentanyl and the vaccine

Some of it is the opioids.
Some of it is the fact that one particular segment of the population has an insane mortality rate between 12 and 40.

The data only goes up to 2020, so, no.
Opioids and being fat. Plenty of brits, especially outside of London, are fat too, though they seem to walk more than we do, even if they're obese.
10k steps a day to live longer has merit.

DAMN - glad I already made it this far.

Yeah, definitely multifactorial.

We are a nation of fat, lazy fricks.

If the Albanians and Sicilians were the main distributors and sellers of American drugs, we'd have far less overdoses imo. The drug scene in the UK is far less deadly than it is here, and it largely has to do with the business practices of their criminal gangs.

You misspelled culcha.
And I’m not sure you can really control for COVID (and riots). So many factors. Drugs. Alcohol. Isolation and the attendant depression and sleep issues. But yeah UK would’ve had all of that and then some I guess.
Do Brits really eat better than [white] Americans?
My money is on fentanyl as far as the continental comparisons go.

quote:Probably not that much better. To be clear - one of the reasons this is so depressing is that, of the 10 countries measured, the UK is the SECOND worst.

This comes down to a basic morality question
freedom and higher death rates
or
greater levels of govt control but safer lives

A lot of the deaths are due to fentanyl. Border security is needed.
