I mean shite, read this. The only difference between then and now is that SOME liberals had fricking sense and saw the bull shite for what it was.
Oh, and I will say this. Even back then, I knew the whole "heteros just as at risk" thing was a lie and no, I didn't need to be a fricking virologist to know.
Fauci did this shite before.............But at least back then, even some people at the CDC were like, "da frick man, that's bull shite" to which Fauci and his people said it was necessary that people think heteros were just as at risk in order to get the required policies in place. YES............That's right. He's ALWAYS beleived in lying to achieve preferred policy. This ain't new.

I've never been able to find it, but I was probably in junior high at the time, so like 1984 or so and was at home "sick" and watching TV. Donahue had on some doctor who had the audacity to suggest that heterosexual people were not at any real risk of contracting HIV. Laid it out and said that it was almost entirely a disease that was hitting the homosexual community that participated in unprotected sex and intravenous drug users. And just like what you'd see today with someone that was espousing a viewpoint counter to the narrative about Covid, Donahue ripped him and allowed his audience to rip him for the whole hour.
I just remember thinking as a kid, "Huh...guy seemed to make sense." And the fact that they invited him on and then would not allow him to speak only strengthened my belief that he must be right.

Pfizer guy talking in public about needing more this and more of that is bullshite.

Another one that was great was a doctor on Donahue who was all in on the hetero silliness because the doctor was asked about the number of HIV cases among heterosexuals and the doctor responded by saying, "among Heterosexuals and drug users.......".
He ended up getting asked like 9 times and that fricker REFUSED to give a number WITHOUT the drug users included.
It was literally that day that solidified me knowing it was all bull shite. The doc was telling me right there, out in the open, that what was OBVIOUS to any rational person was true.
It's like this pandemic. Back then, I was like, um, if it's as risky for heteros as it is for gays, where are all the heteros with AIDS? You had this disease showing up EVERYFUCINGWHERE among gays and, NONE of us knew a straight person with HIV. They even tried the whole, "oh, well, in Africa they......" other countries game. (ya know, 14 days behind Italy!!!!)

The main straight non-drug users who got HIV got it through blood transfusions where the donor was infected.
Catching it through hetero sex as a male is possible but very hard. Catching it through hetero sex as a female is more possible but it still requires fricking someone who likely swings both ways or does IV drugs.

And as the link points out, the CDC knew that it was basically a disease passed via anal intercourse almost from the get go.
But, as per usual. Politics got in the way of simply telling the truth. Hell, if you recall, you also had to pretend you didn't know OBVIOIUSLY gay people were gay when they got AIDS.
I will say this, AIDS did validate one thing that I found humorous. Do you recall that for a short period of time, it just absolutely ravaged the male figure skating community?
It was fricking comical to watch the media just pretend to not even be able to contemplate why.

It wasn’t just HIV transmitted due to dirty blood.
A friend’s wife got hepatitis due to a bad transfusion in the 80s. Hence why I lose my shite over people getting up in arms about the donor screening questions, as people ended up with decades of suffering due to some lazy a-hole deciding that he didn’t want to get a screening before donation.

Anthony Fauci before Covid was despised (rightly so) by the gay community at large. Now they just forget that all that hell that Anthony Fauci himself put the gay community through and worship at the alter of him, at least the gay community that isn’t red pilled, because the red pilled ones continued to hate him.
We could have gotten out HIV treatments much sooner if it weren’t for Fauci. Hundreds if not thousands of gay men died alone because Fauci told the families of gays to not go near them since they could spread the virus to them and their kids.
