It's not about imposing mores, it is about protecting innocent lives. You just don't see the child in utero to be a real human, if you did you would probably be on my side of the issue.
With your logic, we should not have been meddling in Europe in 1942, trying to "impose our mores" on the Germans who did not see the Jewish people as fully human. Or maybe we should not have had a Civil War to end slavery, since the Confederacy did not see black slaves a "human beings". By your logic, the Union was imposing their mores on the south. Just making sure we are being consistent with your logic.

With your logic
No southerners were prosecuted for owning slaves. Plenty of Germans were prosecuted for violating existing laws, though I would argue that some of the prosecution were without a valid legal basis.
Emotional arguments are a silly proxy for actual debate.

The biggest issue here is you accept legal as ethical, no one else does.
Some of us have strong moral codes, killing innocents violates that.
You kill someone's child in the womb and they charge you with homicide.
