One thing about shipping containers piling up... criminals love it. We have seen a ton of theft this season.

You will have the same problem in Mobile, that you have at Savannah.

I'm not sure how much the lack of a Panamax-sized turning basin will hurt.

Trucks are what is adding to the issue. Companies are having containers shipped long distance by truck instead of rail because they can get their already late cargo faster.

The lack of truckers is the issue. These are not long haul truckers for the most part. These are short haul guys

Can’t get them to come back to work. Can’t get them to work five days a week. Can’t get enough that can pass a drug test (long term issue)

The military should have been called in months ago to fill the void. Could have cleared out the backlog in a few months

Not on anybodies radar until a couple weeks ago when the WSG finally ran a story about what was going on. Meanwhile, President Potato Head advocates for bigger government, but can’t be bothered to act here.

Inflation in 2021 is going to be over 15%. Over twice the growth in GDP

Why would you be there if you aren't delivering? Somebody has to pay for empty miles. Fuel costs and wear are for real.

How do you get the freight from the RR to the store?

With that fleet of Kenworth's and Peterbilt's they have sitting around, right?

The same way they always have. Deliver by rail to a local intermodal rail yard then by truck locally.

Yeah, and everything has to be converted to pintle hitches, but the hitches are all waiting offshore on a slow boat from chyna.

With the fleets of trucks that the private sector has sitting around waiting on drug free drivers to utilize

They would be able to work nights and weekends and businesses across the US would happily take receipt at all hours. The Army would be paid for every load so not a dime of taxpayer dollars necessary to make it happen

Only about 35 percent of U.S. freight is intermodal. How do you change that?
The real problem, is that we (the U.S.) aren't producing and creating enough outgoing freight. It's been obvious to anybody with a fricking brain, that this is how things end up.

How many are piling up off of the Gulf Coast for ports like Houston, New Orleans, Gulfport, and Mobile?

Demurrage fees are killing us right now. Freight co's don't have trucks or drivers.

Normally takes 2-3 days once it arrives in NOLA for us to receive the shipment in BR.
