As a nonprofit, I believe that that NCAA is prohibited from engaging in political activities. And this IS a political activity. The IRS should step in.

The NCAA doesn't have a leg to stand on when it comes to situations like this. They've enriched themselves off the backs of student athletes for years. Screw them.

And by the way, why aren’t they coming for Georgia, Alabama, Florida, or Arkansas. fricking hypocrites.

It's way past time for MS to change the flag.

Time for Bill Barr to go after the NCAA and SEC for extortion.

My point is this: there was a vote taken 20 years ago. We will call that the “will of the people”. Now, outside forces are going around the will of the people to get the change they desire. I think that’s wrong.

I hear from both sides of the political spectrum that we should put it to a vote; however, we’ve already had a vote. So are we supposed to vote on this issue until the outcome they want is achieved?

20 years is a long time culturally speaking. I don't think a vote this year would be a problem.

I really don't mind if they remove the flag. I've never saluted the state flag. I've not pledged allegiance to the state flag. I do recognize that it is part of Mississippi history while also acknowledging that it is divisive.

But you have to see that this won't stop with the MS flag.

I’d say it’s as good as any other hill to die on at this point.

Can we ban the NCAA

It can be shut down by any State at this point, its in violation of statutory laws across the land from anti-trust behavior, to corruption, etc.

I wasn’t old enough to vote at that time, dude. In the very least I think it should be put back up for vote

But that doesn’t make sense. So every vote taken has to include measures for those too young at the time and the unborn?

Folks said this about the Confederate battle flag and statues. It's never going to end, and it's not just about things involving the Confederacy that are now targets. American history in general is in danger of being erased, and the Democratic Party are willing participants, yet the Republicans are too freaking scared to do anything about any of this.

Need some legislative lawyers to bring up some litigation.

A bunch of jackwagons in the NCAA need to be sued and then fired for attempting to impose their SJW desires on Mississippi for any reason not directly related to their agreed upon authority in college sports.

If the state wants to change their flag, it's the state's decision.

Its not anymore than anyone else. But the SEC and NCAA are the business of the State because they do business within the State.

So unless they do what the NCAA decrees—they are held hostage? Tell me again who the “oppressors” are?

Using actual oppression to force removal of a tangential symbol of oppression seems... well... as ironic as it is illogical.

You can put it back up for vote, dude. It makes perfect sense. “Oh well Jim Crow was voted on in the 1870s, so that’s done. No need to put that up for vote again.”
