ve a different opinion about the kneeling than Wells, but I have no problem whatsoever with his opinion, especially since he conveyed it respectfully. We need more respectful responses like that, and the Saints did the complete opposite. Inexcusable in their part.

Yup. It was just silly.

I mean, one can certainly think the guys is wrong. That's all good. People have differing opinions on lots of shite.

But damn. They went from, "hey, this dude is an awesome dude, let's give him an award"............to........"what, he doesn't want our award.......frick him"

And, just to recap.........this is a BUSINESS.....with CUSTOMERS!

Why even go there when there were about a thousand ways to respond completely on the high road?

I don't give a shite. I just don't watch.

However, explain their real message, since they're too stupid to explain it.

That doesn't even make sense in the context of the discussion, but it hardly ever does.

Nobody's ever accused the Saints organization of making many smart, strategic moves

If Cmdr Wells would have simply declined the award and moved on, whatever. The problem is he went to great pains to contact various media outlets to tell them he was not going to accept it, and why. Which is absolutely his right to do so.

But when he did that... he escalated the situation and the Saints felt the need to respond and set the record straight.

I think the Saints went overboard in their response but I can understand not sitting by and letting others trash your name.

Here's the thing. The Saints, the team honoring him, only knelt once, overseas. Not a single player has knelt in the Dome. So... I think the Cmdr's intentions are misplaced.

It's amazing to me that a hardened military veteran is such a snowflake... getting offended by a few non-Saints players.

And thank God that you(unlike many) are able to recognize this and realize that it's politics immaterial.

That just isn't how you approach people as a business.

It would be like me wanting to give someone who helps people in the community an award and they respond by saying, "well Rob, I'm aware of your conservative leanings and I really despise Trump so I can't show up".

And I respond by saying, "Why are you so fricking divisive!!!"

No. The correct response is. "We understand and regret that we can't get together for this opportunity. We still value the efforts you put in for the people we both serve".

Hell. If it's REALLY killing you, you can add........"I hope that one day in the future, our two organization's values will align to be able to do great things for our community".

But, then again.........that's what an adult would do.

Yep. Someone said it earlier. Both parties are ridiculous. That's been correct since this nonsense began.
