he messaging surrounding this entire conflict has been embarrassing as a MAGA fan. I agree we shouldn’t be putting our ships and guys in harms way but why tell the world we will escort ships to protect them if we’re not willing to do that?
Because Trump is going to Trump. He sticks his foot in his mouth incessantly because he doesn't have any self control to just shut the frick up sometimes.

None of us even know very much of what is actually true. Be a little bit more stoic baw and don’t go immediately to melt down mode. It’s a better look.

Watch this and you will understand exactly why what Trump did matters.

We shouldn't be OK with that. No, we don't need sortie schedules but some sort of coherent "this is what we're doing, this is how we measure winning" shouldn't be too much to ask.

I think they have outlined what their objectives are from multiple people at different appearances.
I do agree the messaging could be better on this though. There’s a ton riding on this.

Yeah, and they're all over the place, sometimes even when they come from the same person.

Have they?

It's what the admin does. They say/leak multiple options and then claim those aren't even the only options. They did the same with tariffs.
In all of those statements there is no coherent plan. There are multiple options for plans, but those are in conflict with each other somewhat.

Promethean Update is really dumb even for Qtards

This administration doesn’t have any intention of telling the American people, the world or the enemy what the plan is. Though I do believe they have one. It will hurt them politically in the short term at least.
In regards to the strait, the markets and world opinion don’t really give a shite how much Iranian shite we blow up or how many of their leaders we kill if the strait remains closed.

Did you read my entire post?
Yes, but it appears my post was in Swahili. The tankers are in range now. There are ports and terminals all over the gulf where said ships are already at risk. They're not all hiding under some magic umbrella provided by the 5th fleet HQ at Bahrain. Not that any of the air defense has kept Dubai, etc., risk free anyway.

I'm not sure. I think they have a few paths they would accept as a victory and fear being pinned down by their own comments, so they do the "we aren't limiting ourselves" stuff. They've also trained the MAGA NPCs to push the "ART OF THE DEAL!!!" meme online as cover. This way they can never be wrong and can always declare victory post-hoc.

I don't think you know what a meltdown is. Criticism of Trump's unnecessary inconsistent language, which is plentiful, but particularly in war time, isn't melting down. It's holding him to a fairly fundamental standard. Contradicting messages from the administration itself is rather what constitutes a "bad look." People being unable to acknowledge or accept as legitimate any criticism of his actions is tiresome.

I believe they have options to scale up or scale down the conflict and have a variety of acceptable outcomes based on realities on the ground and political considerations.
Personally I think anything short of regime change is a failure.

Agreed and I don’t think the Venezuela model is gonna work here

I'll never understand why this board considers anything remotely negative about Trump to be a "melt down".
