The NSBA represents every single public school board in the US, which includes over 14,000 districts and 90,000 board members.
“Dear Mr. President: America’s public schools and its education leaders are under an immediate threat. The National School Boards Association (NSBA) respectfully asks for federal law enforcement and other assistance to deal with the growing number of threats of violence and acts of intimidation occurring across the nation.
Additionally, NSBA requests that such review examine appropriate enforceable actions against these crimes and acts of violence under the Gun-Free School Zones Act, the PATRIOT Act in regards to domestic terrorism, the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act, the Violent Interference with Federally Protected Rights statute, the Conspiracy Against Rights statute, an Executive Order to enforce all applicable federal laws.”

This story has been repeated but bears repeating.
If the school boards aren’t listening to parents and the parents are getting chippy as a result, the problem is NOT the parents.

School boards are a joke as they have become avenues for people to get rich rather than actually helping. Lower the standards to increase the scores and then pat yourself on the back

And the Fed has zero constitutional authority in education. The Dept of Ed should have long ago been abolished.

I don’t even need my kids in those schools to complain.
If my tax dollars are paying for the district, without regards for whether kids are enrolled there, then it is my goddamn right to show up and make my thoughts known.

I've said this for years. It's only been around as a stand alone bureaucracy since 1980, so we got along fine without it for over 200 years. Its predecessor, the Department of Health, Education, and Welfare was created in 1953.

I'm not so sure it is fear, more like resentment. They hate the parents because the parents are standing in their way. They think they have a divine right to power and they hate it when someone tells them no.
