America’s most traditional conservative magazine makes its choice

We have a lot of time for quirky, go-it-alone libertarians, but prefer if they aren’t conspiracy theorists or noxious critics of Israel.

Massie’s independence is too often in service of dubious causes.

His push to release the Epstein files — violating Justice Department policy and embarrassing and maligning people who had committed no crimes — was driven by the belief that nefarious forces were keeping them secret to hide some vast conspiracy. Now that evidence of this conspiracy has failed to materialize, he, of course, still believes that nefarious forces are hiding the evidence.

Meanwhile, he made himself the Inspector Clouseau of the January 6 pipe bomb case, alleging a deep state inside job.
Like most right-wing conspiracy theorists, he has no use for Israel. Massie is a genuine isolationist, who opposes even sanctioning other countries, but his opposition to Israel is bitterly irrational. He boycotted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address to Congress and claims that every member of Congress has an AIPAC minder. He opposes all aid to Israel, even for Iron Dome, and routinely votes against pro-Israel resolutions. A couple of years ago, he posted a meme saying that Congress has turned its back on American patriotism in favor of Zionism. It’s telling, if not surprising, that a pro-Massie super PAC is running an ad in the race that portrays the billionaire investor and anti-Massie donor Paul Singer, who is Jewish, alongside a rainbow-colored Star of David.

We hope that the district’s voters on Tuesday will send Massie to a well-earned retirement, giving him the opportunity to join ally Marjorie Taylor Greene in airing their grievances and wild-eyed theories in the private sector.

Massie’s disgraceful conduct in falsely accusing random citizens of being:

A) Epstein accomplices
B) j6 pipe bombers

Is worthy of condemnation

Using your high perch as a congressman to falsely accuse citizens of being pedophiles, is perhaps the most abusive and destructive violation of one’s oath of office I can imagine

Multiple members have explicitly stated their priority is Israel. This is not a conspiracy theory. It’s objective fact based on their own words and voting habits.

National Review has a long history of opposing RINOs. They were the driving force in taking the republican party out of the hands of the “Rockefeller Republicans” who were the RINOs of the 1970’s.

NR is not MAGA, which is a populist not conservative. There are three groups here.

1. RINOs - these are the people like Cassidy who would be democrats if the state were a little more left.
2. Conservatives (call them paleo-conservatives if you want). These are small government advocates who believe that government is best that governs the least. This is where NR resides. NR will support RINOs in order to gain control of the government. This is certainly not where Trump resides, which is…
3. MAGA - a populist movement that is driven by anti-immigration, low taxes, a strange mix of isolationism and international swaggering, and a personality cult around Trump. MAGA is a coalition, with groups bought in on some of those things but not all.

It appears the NR which started as a backlash of sorts against Rockefeller Republicans, have embraced It now.

William F. Buckley, Jr., who I greatly respected, had once said that if the United States had a parliamentary system, President Bush would be subject to a “no confidence” vote. He was highly critical of the war in Iraq. In the past, Buckley’s nephew Brent Bozell has weighed in on National Review’s relevance. Back in 2012, he posted this to Facebook and Twitter: “National Review’s endorsement of Romney & Huntsman proves only that this is no longer the magazine of William F. Buckley Jr. My uncle would be appalled.”

The anti-Isreal/anti-Jewish narrative is starting to be so blinding it's almost certainly a psyop.

There is almost nothing that can divide right wing conservatives in a way that would cause enough disrupion to aid democrats, even though many attempts have been made.

Can you name one other attempt they've made to divide conservatives into splinter groups that has been successful? I can't.

The noise has become so loud lately that it's glaringly obvious it's intentional. They've finally found the thing that can drive a wedge and they're hammering it hard.

And it's working

The anti-Isreal

Mostly on the left.

Most people I know arent anti Israel, they;'re anti Israeli influence on the US government.

I dont get it, we send them money and still are dogged by AIPAC.

You can disagree with the criticism, but you cant deny the facts.

quote:

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC; /'e??pæk/, AY-PAK[6]) is an American pro-Israel lobbying group that advocates its policies to the legislative and executive branches of the United States.[7] It is one of several pro-Israel lobbying organizations in the United States,[8] and has been called one of the most influential lobbying groups in the U.S

I dont hate Israel, I prefer them to Palestinians. They just need to learn to make it alone and stop dragging us into shite.

Dont mention the Jews, they have nothing to do with this. There are more Jews outside of Israel than inside. This isnt a Jewish thing, its an Israeli thing.

I didn't realize state funded abortions were "ancap"

quote:

The nation’s Health Ministry commission, led by Dr. Yonatan Halevy, last week announced its state-subsidized “health basket,” the package of medications and services that all Israeli citizens are entitled to under the nation’s health care system. It was approved by the cabinet on Sunday. The health basket is analyzed and amended on an annual basis, and among the many additional treatments to be offered to Israelis in 2014 are free-of-charge abortions for women ages 20-33.
