re: My Star Wars movie review: male white folks are bad

I stayed away from a poli board review because I don't think the SJW bullshite is really why it sucked. It was just the sucky window dressing.

In summary, the place from which Disney is coming at this movie is overwhelmingly a political one. Aside from FX and costumes/makeup, there is no artistry in this film. The pacing is completely off and parts of the story go nowhere at times. Purple hair Laura Dern is there for no reason other than to be yet another woman in charge (we already have Leia to be a brilliant leader and admonish Poe if that's what they want, so why do we need an obvious nod to actual Tumblr SJW's doing more?

BUT IF YOU REMEMBER ANYTHING I SAY, REMEMBER THIS. The Asian character that they say is there for shiny happy diversity is there for no other reason than to placate the Asian markets. This is also why Yoda appears to be more materially real and not a traditional "ghost." The Chinese don't allow that in movies released over there (yes, because they're all collectivist and open minded).

The scenes in which the Asian girl Rose stuns, manhandles and talks down to Finn are in there to be comic relief for Asians, who don't like black people. This is also why Disney agreed to downsize the image of Finn on the TFA poster that hit the Asian markets.

So, to recap, Disney included some pretty seriously racist shite in their movie to placate Asians but advertise it to us as a sign of their holier-than-thou progressive diversity.

Oh, and as I said after TFA came out, Finn is not a sage, badass or cool character. He's a token comic relief, stereotypical cliche spouting clown. More Disney "diversity."

The empire has always been elitist white dudes. Last Jedi not breaking new ground there..

This. The narrative of this Star Wars film being "all about diversity" is a crock of shiite. However, it is popular because political partisans profit from it.

Progressive partisans get to write click-trolling little op-eds about "man-splaining", "white supremacy", "the 1%", and how little Asian girls had no idea they could be badass without a token character in a Star Wars movie. This fires up the SJW base.

Paleo-conservative partisans profit from this narrative by getting to trash those click-bait articles with their own "victim-mentality" articles trashing Hollywood. They get to paint Hollywood as a bunch of elitist SJW's who are out of touch with "real" America. This fires up the white male base.

As South Park once said about our modern media culture "The commentary is the substance". Everything is all about shock value and generating clicks and retweets.

It's hilarious because someone who watches the movie will see just enough context clues to jump to those conclusions. But, if they slow down a little and actually pay attention to what's going on, they'd realize that the real message of the movie literally slaps that narrative across the face with a big sith dildo.

Those vaunted female heros fail, and despite going out a hero, they only had to do that to salvage the shiite situation they created by not listening to the "agressive male" in the first place. See, women were denied positions of power for so long in this society. They constantly railed about how terrible and impulsive men in power were. Once affirmative action started getting them into offices, they constantly worked with a chip on their shoulders. However, now they're in command, and they're still so self-conscious about being seen "as a woman" that they allow their hubris to ignore advice and simply "pull rank", running their institutions into the ground while never accepting responsibility for their actions.

That's what happens to the women in this movie. Leah realizes her mistake late in the movie, and Dern pays for hers with not only her life, but the lives of most under her command.

Luke was blinded by his hubris, causing his jedi academy to fail.

Ray was blinded by her hubris in thinking she could turn Kylo-Ren, but was instead manipulated into going straight into a trap.

Snoke was blinded by his hubris into thinking Kylo-Ren would never betray him despite Kylo-Ren not being able to pull the trigger on his mother. He paid for that mistake with his life.

Rather than actually find the objective, Finn and Rose just stupidly grab the first "hacker" they can find, and get betrayed and captured.

Then, their last ditch strategy was for the diversity SJW's to send out a distress signal, expecting hundreds of ships to come and rally to their cause to fight the evil white people, and guess what happened: NOTHING! No one came to help them, because despite all of their whining, only the whiners support their cause!

The final battle between these two nearly impotent armies shows them practically drowning in salt covering up a planet made of red pills PEOPLE!!!

The Last Jedi is a secret red pill ninja masterpiece.

So here's the part about Laura Dern's character, that makes you realize she's an SJW icon and not a well thought out character: All she had to say was this: "Look Poe, I know you want to do what's best, but I have a plan. However, I can't tell you that plan, because while some think the FO is using "some kind of tracking technology", it could just as well be that one of those stupid trackers Leia has for Rey was brought on board by a spy from the FO. So I'm not going to tell anyone else the plans and risk losing the war."

Instead, she pulls rank and says it's Poe's fault for losing half the fleet. Which it is, be it far from me for not blaming him for that. But his plan took out the Dreadnought class ship, which if had survived would have pulled out of hyperspace to blow up the transport immediately.

Nope, Prince Charles and Prince Harry played Stormtroopers in the field. They are white. Harry's black fiancee was not in the film.
