My liberal best friend growing up, who I haven't talked to much since I got married in 2002, reached out to me randomly a couple months ago and we talked a bit about COVID and this and that. Haven't spoken since then when, out of the blue, I get a message from him this morning. Dude's been buying "supplies" and even had created a spreadsheet wherein he was compiling a list of firearms for consideration to purchase, their pros, cons, costs, etc. Basically had a complete prepper list put together. We chatted a little bit about our recent purchases and sounds like we're going to get together and do some shooting soon. I didn't directly ask him about his political leanings right now (he knows I'm a "Trump-tard"), but I get the feeling that he is keenly aware that our way of life in this country is in trouble right now. Given his "shopping list", I really can't see how he might reconcile voting for Biden with his new interests. I'm really hoping that maybe he's seen the light. I'm looking forward to shooting and chatting with him again.

He is what old aging Blue Dog Dems in the South aren't..a realist.
My Leftist Lib mother and her Blue Dog friends think that Nancy and Co have the Party under control. They are very old, and don't have their ears to the ground.
They think that Biden/AA Female VP means that "the Moderates" still have a firm grip on the DNC.
Carville, Woodward, Beychok, etc..probably still think so too?
They can't see the cliff that the Leftists have been tugging them by the chain towards year after year..they think it's just another 1968,etc..
They are in their last days of controlling this loose Far Left voting bloc amalgamation.
Blue Dog Dems not voting GOP in 2020 vs what the Left is currently selling = denial of current realities.

Please thank him for his interest in sane American politics but you can tell him that it's too late. The Rubicon is crossed and there's no going back now. TRUMP can delay the inevitable but he cannot stop it. Marxism will Rule over the USA one day. It really doesn't matter who he votes for now.
