My favorite part about Buzzfeed editor Ben Smith's statement

As you have probably seen, this evening we published a secret dossier making explosive and unverified allegations about Donald Trump and Russia. I wanted to briefly explain to you how we made the decision to publish it.
We published the dossier, which Ken Bensinger obtained through his characteristically ferocious reporting, so that, as we wrote, "Americans can make up their own minds about allegations about the president-elect that have circulated at the highest levels of the US government."
Our presumption is to be transparent in our journalism and to share what we have with our readers. We have always erred on the side of publishing. In this case, the document was in wide circulation at the highest levels of American government and media. It seems to lie behind a set of vague allegations from the Senate Majority Leader to the director of the FBI and a report that intelligence agencies have delivered to the president and president-elect.
As we noted in our story, there is serious reason to doubt the allegations. We have been chasing specific claims in this document for weeks, and will continue to.
Publishing this document was not an easy or simple call, and people of good will may disagree with our choice. But publishing this dossier reflects how we see the job of reporters in 2017.

Though it wasn't their intention, buzzfeed exposed CNN as fake news and pretty much killed the Russia hacking chatter

What is a "secret dossier."
The guy who made it was a private investigator. There was nothing secret about it. That phrase makes it seem like Top Secret government info.

That is a bullshite cop-out.
The average American does not have the time, resources, or expertise to independently verify the authenticity of something like that. That's why we have fricking JOURNALISTS WHO SHOULD DO THEIR frickING JOB AND ADHERE TO BASIC JOURNALISTIC STANDARDS.
Its like a prosecutor in court being allowed to introduce a completely fabricated account of a woman being raped by a guy, and saying after the trial "Hey, I didn't say it was true. I just put it out there for the jury to make up their own minds about it."

I'm coming forward with shocking, unverified claims that Volhalla butt-seksed a sheep.
Let's let the public decide if it's true because, you know, they have no fricking way of knowing or verifying if it is or not. That's the new standard of journalism that ironically begins in 2017 and is dictated by the journalistic titans at Buzzfeed.

It's not as bad as CNN which had the dossier but didn't bother to tell anyone in their report that is was full of verifiably false information

The ultimate decider on the truth of the allegations will be Putin, if he deems it necessary to use it to his advantage. There is no need for Putin to use this now. It would make no sense. All of this is part of Putin's shadow war and so far he is loving the infighting and controversy, since he knows it only helps Russia.

Honest question here. "DID BUZZFEED PUBLISH ANY OF THE HACKED DNC OR PODESTA EMAILS?" I'm truly curious as to how consistent their desire to let the people decide for themselves is.
Somebody help me out here.

She could trash a hotel (room) like USA Hockey in 98 and it would come across as a rogue intern.
