re: My COVID story. Non vaccinated, obese late 50's

That's it in a nut shell. It should be an individual case choice. If you fall in a risk category (age, obesity, etc) you should definitely consider the vaccine. If you die now it doesn't matter what the vaccine does to you in 10 years. However if you are young and not in a risk category go about your business.
This is how we all should be treating this. Nothing I mean nothing to do with politics.

Most educated people over 35 or so don’t want to risk spending two weeks in the hospital or having to miss 10 days of work to score political points against the Libs
So you are saying they take ivermectin weekly as a preventative or at the first sign of illness! Smart move.

uh, where have you been in regards to power grabs by libs? Don't let this one confuse you.
global warming
desegregation
AIDS
systemic racism
9/11
All power grabs.

I’m 28 and in good shape so I couldn’t care less other than having to work remotely. I’m also not dumb enough to think my situation is applicable to everyone.

Correct - I should have said "yet another liberal power grab"

Healthy people aren't affected as much by this virus.
well realize when you make that statement that you realize, close to 40% in LA are obese. Over 50% are overweight in and of itself. Factor in other conditions and you are talking about 60%+ are unhealthy.

There’s been a couple of edgy-jack wagon responses to your OP, but hey, on these message boards where everyone is 6’3”, completely jacked and runs a sub 4 second 40, I guess that’s to be expected, lol.
Glad you are recovering and as you stated yourself, being in a higher risk category you might’ve made a different decision. As you also stated, it should be a personal decision for everyone and people just need to cut through the propaganda crap prevalent nowadays, try to be informed and make the best decision for themselves.
Glad you are doing better and a continued full recovery for you.

Very much incorrect. These were power grabs by so called "conservatives"
especially 9/11.

Glad to hear you are recovering.

Not Really.
That was back in the day when anyone with an (R) by their name was trusted. Now looking at Romney, Ryan, Bush, Roberts, etc. we know why those power grabs were "led by conservatives".

20 months into Covid I still don’t know one person who has been hospitalized with Covid or died.
I know 3. One, my 64 year old 1st cousin, died on a vent after 17 days intubated. We buried him on New Years Eve.

im 5'9 and slow as frick, but i can atleast sprint a true 40 without pulling a muscle and do so on a regular basis.
Im glad OP is recovering. And i agree with him that most on this board should get the vaccine, because most are overweight and are not nearly the shape they think they are. BUt lets not call it edgy to say OP didnt care about his health.

I was 225 when I got Covid in early February. I lost 35 lbs from the time I was tested to 4 weeks later. I have been at 190 since and it seems that is my new normal weight. I graduated HS 33 years ago at 175.

99.8% take your chances an let your immune system do it's job. Christ when did everyone get afraid of germs?
I think most people have this philosophy until someone close to them dies from COVID. Maybe that person had a few comorbidities, but without COVID they wouldn't be dead now. 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? They likely would have had a premature death at some point but not now.
Similar to cancer, nobody believes it could happen to them until it does. Or to someone close to them.
So taking a vaccine to prevent dying, even if the chance of death is small, begins to make sense to people.
The tiny risk of developing a rash or irregular heartbeat for a few days vs the tiny risk of being dead. Not a hard decision for people once they set aside their political stubbornness.
But it should be their decision, not the government's or their employer's.
