I’ve watched damn near every word Trump has said publicly campaigning and while in office, but today he talked about how hard it was for him to deal with dead Americans soldiers and writing to their families about what happened.

One of the rare times Trump gets emotional and it was really a quietly powerful moment that shows how much it mean to him and why he wants to get out of these wars.

Wonder if it's the guilt from dodging Vietnam with his fraudulent bone spurs.

yes, we’d have all been so much better off if he’d been forced to enlist in Vietnam and come home a paraplegic for absolutely no purpose. Or ended up senselessly dead like tens of thousands of other US soldiers

"There has to be an ending. If we stay it will be the same thing."

Truer words have never been spoken.

At least you're consistent. Most of these assholes loved war until Trump told them not to.

I'm definetly not a fan of the "stay out of stuff" folks, as getting involved internationally is the American Way, but I think I'm close to the way Trump sees things. Be prepared to use force, making sure we are the toughest, make sure all know that if they hit us we will squash you...swift and once.

I liked how he said we need an end game. Calling out the ones that are upset would keep us there forever. The fact he told the Turkish pres that we are leaving, but don't do anything we will disagree with. Is...don't go messing with Kurds.

Let's have key strategicly placed bases in friendly countries, so we can get where need to quick. Why Obama backing out of the Poland deal pissed me off.

Trump definetly turned out differently than I thought. God bless him.

Oh by the way, this was at the official signing of the new US-Japan trade deal.

What? You hadn't heard about it?

Half this board finds it a turn on, but it upsets Trump. Odd the differences

Don’t go overboard here. I wouldn’t weep if the good Lord called him home, but this is over the top.

DP - I don't call you (or anyone, really) out too often, but you have been around here long enough to know that your flippant comment is an absolute fallacy. There are very few on this board in favor of war.

This board was so hard against Syrian involvement when Obama drew his red line. Nobody thought we should go in there. Sure, you get the occassional, "turn all that sand into glass" commentary, but the vast majority here are not neo-cons.

And you know it. That was a cheap point for no reason other than you just being contrary.
