So we shouldn’t do anything to child rapists then?

Dude, in Afghanistan, our soldiers were fighting on the same side as dudes who partook in bacha bazi.

And our guys were told to look the other way

That's true.

But that was Obama's CIA when all of that was allowed to take place including suitcases full of cash to the tribal warlords. That was a Brennan and, to a lesser extent, Panetta that not only allowed that to happen but told their case workers and blue badgers to look the other way.

There were repercussions but, imho, not severe enough.

That would/will NEVER happen under Trump.

I always enjoy the “whataboutisms” backfiring into a condemnation of Obama.

We gave the Mujahideen money and weapons to fight the Soviets. We overthrew Hussein, Gaddafi and Assad, relatively secular rulers, who were immediately replaced by Islamic radicals. Our own actions seem to put us in the pro-child rape camp.

So you also think we should do nothing about child rapists because of past mistakes?

Man there sure are a lot of people low-key fine with child rape.

This thread is full of brainwashed morons - Israel is our best ally and a badass one at that. This action is America first because it’s part of the plan to crush China - it started with Venezuela then Iran and Cuba is next. And if you think Israel controls America of Trump you are just stupid and listen to idiots

No I'm saying that the consequences of our foreign policy adventures are often worse than what the original problem was. It's called blowback.

I can’t stand Obama. Like I said earlier, there are no good sides over there. We kicked out the baddies, the Taliban, temporarily, and the boy rapists took over.

defining Trump’s career as being a “ fat fricking tv show host” is just so stupid and ridiculous and a pathetic attempt to discredit him.
that’s like calling Tom Brady some “shitty TV sportscaster”.
yeah, Trump was nothing but a reality tv show star and we elected him as President. People have been telling Trump since the 1980s that he should run for President.

I imagine you've read most of the history we all share.
What you said is 100% correct. But my gut says this is one of the ones you mentioned that works out for the better.

And here's the crazy thing.

Under Obama they would send these female Ivy League case workers out into the field, accompanied by these former Blackwater guys (including sime friends of mine) who the CIA had hired to do this security work (given Blue Badges, which is how we gave them their nickname) and these female Ivy Leaguers, usually smart women linguists, would deliver suitcases full of cash and everyone could see what was going on with these little boys dressed up as young girls in these camps ... and the female case workers had no problems looking the other way. They were cold blooded.

I have heard some stories from some of the guys that would make your bloodcurdle. But the rule was, "don't get involved, deliver the marching orders and the cash and leave. They have their customs that we must honor."

Absolutely repulsive stuff under Obama and Brennan. Of course Brennan is literally a Marxo-Commie Muslim ... so there's that.

I agree with you. Persians aren't Arabs or South Asians. Turkic peoples are miles better to deal with.

Blowback is typically reserved for an immediate reaction to a specific action.

I think what you're referring to are more long term consequences and repercussions ... and you're right, to some extent. It's a true libertarianism view of things.

But it's naive. There are not always negative repercussions from taking decisive action. Sometimes there are repercussions for taking no action. It works both ways.

Our major malfunction, as a country, are the drastic political pendulum swings from one administration, one congress, to another.

Obama got credit for killing Bin Laden but all the work was done before he took office. And there have been massive repercussions from him handing Iran billions in cash and not holding their feet to the fire on nuclear inspections.

Massive repercussions with how Biden yanked us out of Afghanistan.

There were massuve repercussions from withholding oil and steel from Japan from 39-42.

There were massive repercussions when Neville Chamberlain called off the dogs on Nazi Germany in 38 and for signing the Munich Agreement.

Massive repercussions for the Treaty of Versailles that officially ended WWI.

The list goes on and on.

It's odd how those who suffer from TDS are so fixated on the "draft dodger" bit, like we haven't elected numerous draft dodgers as President in the past or something.

Not to mention that an example was made of the two SF guys that tried to intervene and do the right thing. Sent the message that doing the right thing would ruin your career.
