believe it or not jethro, you don't live in a democracy, you live in a republic, in city, in a county, in a state and 90% of the government that you can see touch and feel happens two you on one of those three levels. the president of the united states has no bearing on your life. if it does then something has gone horribly wrong in your life.

Might work for the first king chosen. But inevitably somewhere down the line of succession, sooner or later we'd end up with an heir to the throne that's a tyrant, corrupt, a bumbling idiot, or some combination of all 3.

Even if somehow realized, it would almost assuredly be fleeting. You design rules of governance based on worst-case scenarios.

Utopia won’t exist period. I’d rather have a male king than a female voting republic.

Practically different from the autopen?

This Yarvin character is influenced by economists Murray Rothbard and HH Hoppe. The same influencers Javier Milei has.

You guys should be able to see where this is heading.

Was a clown take. You sound like an Iranian.

The point was not worth an argument, you’re free to embarrass yourself.

Is a king different from an autopen?

Or are you arguing that women being allowed to vote has been a positive for the country?

Whataboutism.

Arguing for a kingdom is against the entire premise on which the country is founded.

Arguing women shouldn’t be able to vote is some small peen divorced old man BS. Good luck with that. This may be a shocking revelation, but women are people & some of them are very smart and good at things.

Your vision of America is a fantasy shared by very few that will never & should never be realized. Iran is right over there if you want to test the theory.

If you could find 10 real people to sign an affidavit supporting that position, I would send you $100.

I’m not literally arguing for a kingdom. I’m arguing that what we’ve become is not obviously better. It’s a critique of our current republic and not promotion of a monarchy.

I’m happily married to a woman. She happily voted however I do. Would you compare our founding to Iran as well? Women voting is a modern thing.

So two points here.

For one, that is the definition of hyperbole. You’re saying you don’t actually mean what you’re saying.

For two, it is objectively better. Yea sure, shite’s a bit fricked up — but the majority still heavily influences most outcomes.

Life is not that bad & if you really believe that, you are either a bit naive or very spoiled. Look around at the rest of the world. Even in times of turmoil, we’ve got it pretty good.

As you said, utopia doesn’t exist.

Yes the majority influences the outcomes. And the country is basically 50/50. Without women it’s not nearly as close to 50/50. I’m not naive in that I know we aren’t taking the vote away from women. I just personally think the vote on average would be for more fiscal responsibility or at least not towards every crazy idea that pops into their heads. We also wouldn’t be as inundated with race issues. I can’t prove that, just my opinion.

Curtis Yarvin is an absolute crank. Appropriate add for a Musk US political party.

That’s the beauty of it all, isn’t it? We’re allowed to disagree. You win some, you lose some. Keeps extremes from taking over. I disagree with Dems on a lot, but I can admit they seem to have been correct about fricking Musk.

Really difficult to blame women for fiscal irresponsibility when we’ve been fiscally irresponsible for decades across multiple administrations / both parties.

To be fair the American “experiment” wasn’t originally “let the lowest common denominator vote for more welfare” until the democrats got into power

I guess you could call manifest destiny territorial expansion and its associated land grabs a form of welfare.

Yarvin & Thiel are actual technofascists who do in fact believe in a purely authoritarian surveillance state.

Sure, we have some cracks in the foundation, but their answer is not the solution.

All three of these dudes can frick right off, keep fricking off down the street until they see a sign that says “no fricking off”, and then frick off right by it.

Exactly. These types are trying to be fellow travelers with right populism to decapitate populism as a political opportunity altogether.
