They wouldn't jail him for that and make a martyr out of him. They'll do what they're doing to Trump. Lawsuits against his businesses, fraud claims, etc.

Dont forget that these companies also hired people from the intel community.

I don't think the FBI has been threatening arrest against any of these people running platforms - so far they haven't had to. These people are more than happy to work with the FBI and they know that if they don't play ball, Congress will start meddling in their business. It's a financial incentive and ideological union. I think with X they're just going to try and put it out of business.

Irrelevant. The federal government quietly "warning" in this instance is no different than the mafia "warning" a business owner that they should pay them a fee to make sure "nothing bad happens" to them or their business. Even if completely silent, that the federal government is "warning" a company about/against some future action carries an understood "or else" implication.
This is why we have the First Amendment in the first place.
quote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Their being involved in issuing such a "warning" in private is a flagrant attempt at pulling an end-run around the First Amendment by creating a collusive environment behind the scenes. The proper venue would have been for the FBI/DOJ/etc to issue a public statement warning the public at large about what it believes to be false information, then leave it at that.
That they (and the Biden campaign team) created and used private channels, then attempted to deny and hide those channels just underscores their intent to break the First Amendment.

That makes the companies public actors.

The only thing we can hope for is that X is too big to fail because they’re going to start referring to X is just another Truth Social and try to discredit it. Elon Musk has already lost credibility with a lot of Democrat voters simply because their overlords told them.
Instagram Threads is making moves to become the old Twitter, but their interface is less straightforward, I don’t see it happening.

Why is the FBI harassing this African immigrant?

So what would have happened if those companies in 2020 refused to censor the information the FBI came to them about? We'll never know because they did exactly as told.
