For many, the “Equestrian” statue at the museum’s Central Park West entrance had come to symbolize a painful legacy of colonial expansion and racial discrimination.

Right, I’m sure lots of people walked past that statue and became infuriated

This issue is the statue’s depiction of the Native American and African American

Wouldn’t you prefer a museum of all places to accurately portray history, regardless of people’s feelings? Or do we now retell a version of history that leaves out the parts we don’t like? Surely nothing could go wrong with that strategy

Soon the mob will come for the WW2 monuments and memorials when they realize the white men who stormed the beaches at Normandy didn’t do it so their grandchildren could be asexual transgender deerkin living in a communist country.

Teddy bears came from the Mississippi Delta bear hunt where Roosevelt refused to shoot the tied up black bear.

Will all teddy bears be banned??

Glad I took my kids to Mount Rushmore last week. We took pictures hopefully we aren’t required to delete them.

At this point, it just laughable. I didn't agree with everything TR did politically but he has one of the more interesting life histories ever.

Does anyone ever agree 100% with any other person on this planet?
That’s one of our biggest problems: People don’t know how to disagree.

I posted a thread on this board a couple of days ago.
Rather than civilly stating why they disagreed with me and enjoying a lively discussion, some people went nuts.

I blame the removal of Dodge Ball.
