Wouldn’t it be nice if we had 50 votes to shoot down $40billion being sent to the Ukraine, on multiple occasions.

I wish people would stop saying "codify Roe v. Wade." That law sought to expand abortion well beyond the decision in Roe v. Wade.

Abortion to the point of delivery?? What the actual frick?
I suggest you take a moment and actually read the Bill, because it is nothing of the sort.

Unrestricted elective abortion until viability, and only medical necessity after viability. Sections (8) and (9).

You can certainly oppose this, too, but you are complaining about a bill that DOES NOT EXIST.

Let's see what their Bill says.
quote:

A health care provider has a statutory right under this Act to provide abortion services, and may provide abortion services, and that provider’s patient has a corresponding right to receive such services, without any of the following limitations or requirements:
...
(8) A prohibition on abortion at any point or points in time prior to fetal viability, including a prohibition or restriction on a particular abortion procedure.

(9) A prohibition on abortion after fetal viability when, in the good-faith medical judgment of the treating health care provider, continuation of the pregnancy would pose a risk to the pregnant patient’s life or health.

it does indeed expand beyond Roe in some ways, in that it precludes states from doing things like mandating wait periods.

They have a competing bill. It would codify Roe but allow for the 15-week limit from Dobbs as well as permanently codify the Hyde Amendment. Of course, the Dems have no interest in "compromise

Would this require 60 votes or overturning the filibuster to get thru?

I'm assuming this vote required the same.

Yes. Because even if all the Dems voted for it, plus Collins and Murk, that would only be 52 votes. And Manchin won't agree to end the filibuster.

Cool. Thanks. Was confused with the whole purpose of "heels up" being there, if it weren't for her to be that tie breaker.

wonder if this hurt the GA Senator…

That depends on what the people of GA actually know about the bill. Warnock has always been pro-choice.

How much are the people actually behind abortion because there is no way it’s 70%. Over 80% want voter id and they don’t care about that

Has AggieHank ever chastised leftoids for calling the FL law the "Don't say gay" law?

The Dem law is vague enough to be interpreted to mean if it's in the womb it's not viable. A leftist judge would certainly rule as much.

Amazing 49 senators voted yes on this.

Don’t the groomers understand that if you kill unborn children that they will run out of future kids to groom in their perverted ways? How can they not figure this out. Can’t have it both ways, groomers!

I was in exile at the time, but will gladly say now that “Don‘t Say Gay” is a stupid mischaracterization of the Bill in question.

Really? Did you read it?
quote:

(7) VIABILITY.—The term ‘‘viability’’ means the point in a pregnancy at which, in the good-faith medical judgment of the treating health care provider, based on the particular facts of the case before the health care provider, there is a reasonable llikelihood of sustained fetal survival outside the uterus with or without artificial support.

I’ve not read the bill- but I’ve read articles that it was allowing legal abortions up until birth. I imagine that a very large portion of GA has a problem with that …In fact, i imagine that most pro choice proponents have a week that they are comfortable with killing a baby and a week that they are uncomfortable killing one and the closer to 40wks it gets, there would be less support.

Read the Bill. The authors of those articles are biased and lying to you.
