I'm not offended by what she said either but the left needs to be punished for saying things like this precisely because they attempt to punish conservatives who say similar, innocuous, things. Make them live by the rules they set instead of letting them say whatever they want while conservatives have to walk on eggshells.

I think you'd be surprised at many of my points of view on political issues. I'm hardly far to the left. As I've mentioned before, in California, I was considered to be a reasonable conservative by most people. In grad school after I returned to Louisiana, I was constantly arguing for positions far to the right of much of the department.
It really is a matter of perspective and degree.

I grew up in California. You wouldn't be considered a conservative there if what you post here are really your beliefs. At least not in the Bay Area. Of course...y'all have moved so far left in the past few years...it's hard to know what progressives consider "middle".
