You misspelled smaller.

A 9mm fires a .35 cal 115gr +/- bullet. The AR typically described by MSM fires a .22 cal 55hr +/- bullet.

Which one is bigger?

Lol.

9mm bullet is definitely smaller if by smaller he mean bigger.

It's a pistol, everybody knows pistols shoot little bitty bullets and rifles shoot big bullets

don’t understand the point?

The trauma surgeon is pointing out how the bullet from an AR15 destroys any tissue within a certain radius of the bullet trajectory due to cavitation which is why wounds from that bullet often equire multiple surgeries to survive compared to usually 1 surgury from a 9mm wound.

An AR 15 round need only come near a vital organ or artery to be lethal. Direct hits are not necessary.

It's a fact, so I'm not sure why there would be objections on here.

How it applies to "gun control" is a different convo all together.

Well we all know this about gun control. It’s not like the ballistics of the rounds is “news”

ballistic velocity

What the frick is this?

makes its down range impact more effective and lethal

Not necessarily. Faster can be less effective, depending upon bullet type.

quote:

more accurate over long distances

False. Velocity does not determine accuracy. Makes a flatter ballistic arc, but does not make it more accurate.

whats your point.

That you’re an idiot who is talking as if you’re an authority on a subject that you obviously have no clue about. Leave this one to the grown folk.

What is left out here is that ALL bullets cause cavitation.

Bingo. Every single narrative angle will be explored in the crusade to ban anything and everything possible.

It's not about the guns, it's about the control.

Agreed. It's how "they" justify a ban that should be the point we're debating.

The lethality is pretty well established. And they should list all ammo that is just as lethal so they can be clear about what they are trying to ban.

Probably because fps is fairly meaningless in that context without other ballistic information.

They're really gonna shite their pants when they take a look at cavitation from full size rifle rounds. You know, the rounds that they say are perfectly fine because they're just used to hunt with.

Exactly. Hence my point in a post just above this. It's not about the AR15. It's about the round, and if you want a ban, be clear about what you're seeking to ban.

My Weatherby .257 shoots at over 3500 feet per second. Hope this genius reporter never understands how stupid her talking point is.

And those velocities matter not if you're firing at someone 50 feet away. No one can dodge either bullet. The distinction is stupid and irrlevant.
