Today. Oxygen dialed back to 45. Sedation off for about two hours and restarted at half previous dosage. Quite alert. Got a genuine smile at a picture of her and our youngest daughter at her wedding in early November plus some of her and grandkids. Nutrition is all good and she’s coughing up fluid on her own and that’s being siphoned out by respiratory. I pray harder. And trust Christ.

Bless you, Mrs. M, and your whole family. Your bride is a fighter, and it sounds like she’s drawing further strength from all the love and prayers you’ve surrounded her with. Rest assured that many people - likely more than you could ever know - are praying and will continue to pray for her healing.

I lit a candle in church for your wife last night.

I will continue the prayers.

I think no matter what your views are about this disease and how it can be treated, I hope everyone will agree that prayer is always the best medicine!

Stay strong!

Prayer undergirds all. We’re praying for Mrs. M., all her care givers, and for all of y’all that have tirelessly and relentlessly supported our family with your prayers and thoughtful words. No way I can ever properly explain the depth of Clan M’s gratitude. Your prayers have been a force multiplier.

Today: As a trial, Mrs M. was taken off all sedation to see if she could handle it. She struggled; she overcame. Vent dialed back to essentially a sleep apnea setting. She handled it breathing on her own. A few hours ago the ventilator was removed totally and she was put on a low flow cannula with a little oxygen support. She’s sitting up with a whiteboard and writing and, though raspy, talking quite well. An early message on board: “I better have lost weight.” When she was admitted on 4 January her blood oxygen was hovering at 50. All of y’all’s support and prayers have played their part in this miracle.

Love y’all,

Mr. M.
