Moreno had no knowledge of the indictment!

Here she is citing the statute before the indictment, that somehow the grand jury just coincidentally came up on their own with later to indict Murrill.
Now she's begging Bollinger for a meeting with Landry to save her arse.

Is that how grand juries work? They gather in a room and they’re given a name told to determine if that person broke a law and to come up with which law the person broke?

"You hate to see it."

I am trying to think of a way she could have handled this any worse. What an idiot.

Who came up with Liz Murrill here?

In the Banana Republic of New Orleans yes that is how it works.

Did someone pull the name out of a hat? Curious how grand juries operate procedurally according to the OP.

It seems apparent that someone directed the grand jury to apply the law Moreno cited to charge Murrill. The grand jury didn't "come up with the indictment on their own."

Not likely.

While grand juries can choose their own paths, that hasn't been the case in 200 years. They are run by district attorneys. Those DAs sometimes, like in this case, get direction from other officials. Don't be obtuse.

And there is no freaking universe in which Moreno "didn't know about it" beforehand. Hell, Murrill knew about it a week in advance thanks to the illegal leaks.
Everybody but the mayor of N.O. knew about it, after she makes a video accusing the A G of breaking the law and citing the specific statute under which Murrill should be charged?

According to some of the dullest here, the grand jury for this quarter decided on its own to investigate this particular matter and charge the sitting AG. Sure, morons.

Moreno is the one on her knees now dumbass

It was real fun until it tanked the only way to get their budget in compliance for this year. Hope it was worth it over a do nothing job no one needs done.

This was from July 1. She was indicted on July 2.

I wanna see all of these scoundrels squirm. Hope it opens up further investigations.

Murrill knew she was the subject of a grand jury investigation well before then. Are you contending that Moreno did not know what the grand jury was doing after she cited Murrill's violation of the statute.
