Normally one would have to get a warrant to track someone. Not anymore.

How long do you have to register a used car after you buy one?

I hope every flick camera is vandalized and destroyed. Should be totally outlawed. If we let this shite become normal we are no better than the UK in terms of letting the state control us.

We have dipshits in our HOA advocating for installing these.

I don’t understand the believed sense of security these are supposed to provide.

frick we had cops tail a stolen vehicle into the neighborhood the other day and still lost the assholes in a foot chase. Tf is some camera footage that would be provided anyways by the numerous smart devices all our homes were equipped with at build going to do?

shite is pointless and provides no benefit

Because HOA’s are all about control.

This is just a stupid thing to say. I'm sure it could/would/does provide benefits. A plate number, clothing description, time and location of offense, any number of things useful to LE.

The question is...Do the benefits outweigh the liabilities, misuse and abuse in this example.
BTW, I'm no lawyer or expert, but I think USSC ruled OK for observation in public as there is limited expectation of privacy once out in the streets. Others can and probably will weigh in on that.

Persistent surveillance by a 3rd party is not an observation, and should not be protected by the 4th.

Please explain to the class how capturing your plate on a public roadway is the same as the insanity in the UK.

If it was the city/county operating these things then maybe it would have a bit more merit to the good but this is a private company doing it and they didn’t seem to like being filmed at their office by a random citizen.

If that was protected by the 4th that guy wouldn't be put in the backk of police vehicle and going to jail, would he?

I am not sure as I am not an attorney. Not sure if you saw that part of my post.

Since you do practice law, can you point me to any court cases that affirm your position? Just trying to learn more about it.

He THEN added her vehicle to a "hot list" in the database that would alert him every time her car passed a privately owned surveillance camera in his county.

I'm not an attorney either as I stated in my first post. I'm a loud mouth with an opion, and quite the expert at that. Smart guy.
