Can you imagine being stupid enough to sit at home and let this absolute moron get elected to represent you?
I certainly can't. That's a guilt those people must carry for the rest of their lives.

From AI so tifwiw:
• Pre-1917: After the Senate dropped the “previous question” motion in 1806, there was no formal way for a simple majority to end debate. Unlimited debate (the filibuster) could block action, though norms and practical limits often allowed majorities to eventually prevail.
• 1917: Following a high-profile filibuster that blocked arming merchant ships (prompted by President Woodrow Wilson), the Senate adopted Rule XXII. Cloture (ending debate) required a two-thirds vote of senators present and voting.
• March 7, 1975: The Senate revised the rule so cloture requires three-fifths of all senators “duly chosen and sworn” (60 in a full Senate). Changing the rules themselves still requires a two-thirds vote. This is the origin of the modern fixed 60-vote threshold for most legislation.

Did the founding fathers create the senate filibuster? I disagree with ending it but I dont think your statement is rooted in fact.
It technically started in 1837 as a result of an 1806 rule change that had no intention of creating the filibuster.
It wasn't until 1917 that a 2/3rds vote could end a filibuster.
In 1970 they amended the rule to allow for 60 senators to end it.
This isnt a sacred rule put in by the founders. But it is how we do things.

But the republicans are too chicken shite to do it first even though they knew the Dems would.

We all screamed to high heaven that they would do this as soon as they got back in power regardless when people said we shouldn’t have abolished the filibuster in order to pass shite like the SAVE Act.
Republican congressmen are the world’s biggest vaginas.
