It was a thing for COVID, mainly. It was done in the spring when nobody knew what things would be like before the primaries. COVID is over, so voting gets back to normal. You can request your own absentee ballot.

From what I've seen, most of them do support the move. The MLBPA, coaches and legacy association have voiced their opinion on this.
