Head isn't and wasn't an adult. I expect adults to be adults. You don't want any responsibility for BOC. Yet we see their fingerprints all over this mess.

Speaking as someone who is definitely on the right, I HATE 95% of the people who work in higher ed (of the ones I've come across).

They are the most self-important people (outside of Capitol Hill) in the country.

When my dad had to attend university functions, he always headed straight for the ROTC people. He said they were the only ones left on campus who had any sense. He could stomach the Engineers. Mostly everyone else was whackadoodle.

I don't think we'll ever see eye to eye on the BOC's role. But without doubt, they were not in a position to function due to nominations being stonewalled in the legislature. That much is just fact. As such, I don't place much blame on their shoulders.

Place it where it is most appropriate, Loftin.

The positions weren't filled? They didn't have a quorum? What? Cmon man. Suck it up and admit your nonsense is nonsense.

Yes. You don't recall? Curators are a 9+1(student) body. At time of protest, there were only 3+2(whose terms had expired). 3+1(student) nominations had been made and legislature refused to take them up, halting the BOC business essentially.

Mizzou I am sorry this has happened to your school, Administrators needed a learning lesson, you are the Example of what happens when you bow down too, cow tow, or whatever to anarchists, no matter what they call themselves or their Color.

Thanks for the Example, sorry for the pain.

Terrible article in that the reporter tries very hard to make it seem like people aren't attending Mizzou because of the perception that it's a racist campus.

The utterly condescending tone with which the NY Times reports on seemingly anything outside the Northeast or West Coast has become almost a self parody.

That article is awful

Is being self aware that hard to do or are these people just toting the party line to keep their jobs?

That still doesn't make the headline true.

And the person who wrote the "hate speech" with the N-word in it on a bathroom wall using feces which caused the demonstrations turned out to be a black man who only wanted to foment more racial hatred.

Mizzou was a bad fit for the SEC and it has nothing to do with this. Should have stayed in the big 12 and the SEC should have gone after a different school like another Texas school to get a better foothold in Texas.

Covington resigned during that time. Cupps, Hendrickson, and stewards terms were up.

Phillips, steelman, Snowden, Were all there serving terms as they were appointed to.

"Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard, R-Joplin, said Monday that he has no plans to fill the vacancies on the University of Missouri board of curators until next January.

“We’re not going to do any appointments to the University of Missouri until January of next year,” Richard said."

Also: why do you think the blame falls on the BOC? They, like Wolfe, oversee the entire system. But unlike the president, only meet every so often....meaning they also would have no day to day responsibilities. I get that they are "in charge", but I fail to see the logic beyond that.

You can blame the people most responsible. Loftin, pinkel, those with in person and on the ground responsible

So they weren't at the September, October or November meetings in '15?

Wanna take a stab at why Odom's contract has the 2 year athlete grievance clause with the BOC? Loftin's fault?

that's interesting

so could this story be a double-sided dildo for Mizzou?

1. non-SJW white people are like "frick that progressive circus" and avoiding being called x-ists for 4 years

2. SJW-minded minorities are like "frick that oppressive circus" from the press clippings of the protests

3. Non-SJW minorities are like "I don't want to be associated with that idiocy".
