quote:

Why does @Jacob_Frey keep hurting the community?

Was the best solution at George Floyd Square really another 5AM dismantling and discarding of a space that means so much to so many?
quote:

When one of the things that causes community trauma is a lack of agency, depriving people of that and taking actions like this only imparts more pain on people. It’s awful.
quote:

So you're telling me the place where a community has come together and led peacefully for over a year and has formed a great community is now being raided and ripped apart despite the square causing no problems to anyone? Sure sends a great message to the community, doesn't it?
quote:

They came in the cover of darkness, with 0 warning, that doesn't sound like they had good intentions here.
I woke up and headed on over, with so many other neighbors. Citizen barriers are going back up.
quote:

The city’s raiding and destruction of George Floyd Square is violence against the people.
quote:

From a friend in Mpls:
I hate referring to the events this morning as "re-opening" George Floyd Square. The square has been open. It's been open as a community gathering space, as a memorial, as a teaching space, as a healing space, and more. It hasn't been open to cops.
quote:

Now that Black Lives Matter are no longer politically available as a tool for those in power they are taking down George Floyd square. Showing their support was only ever a opportunistic ploy
quote:

The City of Minneapolis deployed a “community group” to help push through the clearing of George Floyd Square. Again, more prevalence of the “embedded community member” policing models.
quote:

I had an interaction with a femme at one of the blockades that went like

Me: thanks for being here

Femme: thank you! for being here

Me: someone’s gotta be here- we all need to be here.

Femme, at the same time: we all need to be here.

[quote]My heart hurts for what is happening in George Floyd Square this morning. Laura and I visited a couple weeks ago to pay our respects and it is such a powerful, humbling area that deserves to be there forever. I hope they put those barricades right back up. LINK ]

How can you make this comment and still support Democrats. You just wrote the very damn thing conservatives have been trying to tell you.

Apparently the operation to destroy America over a fake racial incident isn’t over yet? Some did not get the message.

1. Used fake money
2. Drug addict
3. Resisted arrest
Died

But we need to honor him because why?

Losers!!!

Not one of them would trust Floyd to babysit their teenaged daughter, home or dog...

But they want to make him a hero?

Pathetic

Mental illness and the left go hand in hand.

These people are just lost and it’s sad that this is how they find meaning and purpose in life.
