You clearly missed my point, I chose not to have lunch and I "didnt go to bed hungry".

On another note, Bozeman is not far from Big Sky is it?

Over 40 years ago I was working for SC Johnson and pulled up to a grocery store (in the back), outside Orlando Fl to talk to the manager, it wasnt open yet but the guy who was delivering the goods from their wholesaler was there. Cowboy boots, hat, humming to himself. I said you seem awfully happy. He said let me tell you a story.

Wife died some years ago, have one girl I raised. Always wanted to be a nurse, so her senior year I did some research and found Rollins would be a good university (old baw must have money). So I sent her test scores she got approved and I had dinner flowers champagne all ready. I tell her and she has a fit, she is gonna take care of me and the ranch, blah blah.

We have a big ole fight and I leave to go drinking with buddies, I show up at dawn and smell breakfast. I walk in the house and see my suitcases packed up with hers. She says if she is going to school Im going with her.

So my friend she graduates tomorrow. Im gonna give her a big kiss, walk outside and thank the lord, and tell my wife I did the best I could do, she is on her own...........and Im heading back to Gods Country Big Sky Montana. You ever get there just ask for me and we will go toss a few, or many.

And that is the problem. No matter what the propaganda says, it is still cheaper and more economical to cook at home. And in this age of technology(since all poor people have smart phones) it is even easier.

Instead they want to eat what the people who work for a living eat. No frick that. You are not entitled to CFA and McDonald's every night. And it is time someone tells the truth.

I've taught for 20 years. My students are about 80% low income. In all of those years, I'd say an average of 2 to 4 out of 110+ per year was truly coming to school "hungry". We have always made sure those kids were given take-home lunch, while also assessing the reason for the neglect and any necessary follow-up.
Outside of some very rural high poverty areas, there are enough programs that no one in the US should go hungry. Only neglect can negate this fact.
