I think he gets briefed on a ton of shite and at the time this probably wasn’t very high on the priority list. I think he likely misspoke or got this instance with another one.
I don’t fault him for it. It’s completely normal. Hegseth only has to focus on military shite. Rubio has to focus only on the diplomatic. Trump has to know as much as possible about everything so I’ll give him some leeway on this one. Although I’m aware the media and his political opponents will not.

I mean, we have video footage of a missile malfunctioning and dropping straight down out of the air into the area (and before you claim that you can see an exhaust trail in the video of the missile falling, but not the one on the school realize that you're only seeing a couple frames of the one that hit the school). You've got the fact that this supposed "cruise missile" hit the school coming damn near straight down on top of it. And you've got the fact that the US and Israelis have been jamming missiles over the area from the outset, which will cause exactly what we saw.
Do you think that was a tomahawk or a glide bomb?

I think that is the most likely explanation yes. Is it possible that an Iranian missile went astray or was even targeted at the school at the same time we launched our attack on it? Yes. But I stand by my assertion that by far the most likely cause was old or bad intel about the current layout of the naval base.
