Of course I'm easy since I have no clue. I just pay my taxes and hope for the best!

But, Captain, he called the Enterprise a "garbage scow".

You know what? I have confidence you can put that 2 and 2 together.

No, he said the Enterprise should be hauled away -as- garbage.

Nothing really other than frequency of patrols and stuff like that. That far out I doubt seriously if they are finding out anything that they don't already know and anything we don't want them to know. The most likely reason they are there is to let us know they are out there. Its the same old game that they have played with each other for years.

Definitely one of the funniest moments on Star Trek, Original Series.

Probably none, it's just there to further cause chaos, Russia isn't going to park a ship with a big "Russian spy" sign hanging off it's side when conducting real intelligence missions.
Trolling Trump, if he doesn't play nice they are ready to broadcast the pee tape

The Pee Tape! Yeah, if Trump does something that Putin doesn't like, the ship is there to broadcast The Pee Tape over the entire electro-magnetic spectrum to make sure that everyone sees it.

Another thing the Navy likes to do with boomers heading out of Kings Bay is have a fast attack make as much noise as possible and "escort" the boomer out to sea. Country X hears the old 88 while the boomer slips away into the deep dark Atlantic.
My brother was a Boomer officer back in the late 80s. The first time he had the watch while leaving Kings Bay, he was up in the sail and was watching the Russian trawler follow them out. The sonar guys started playing Bruce's "Born in the USA" real loud, making the sub a speaker, so the Russians couldn't hear the prop.
Then, when the trawler got close and the sub needed to turn to stay in the channel, he got a call from one of the chiefs, who asked to open the sail deck hatch. Puzzled as to why, he looked at his skipper who simply nodded. He approved the request. Two or three chiefs came out of the hatch and threw a moving box wrapped in plastic over board. Of course, the trawler raced behind the sub to pick up the box, which was filled with Playboy magazines. By the time the Russians picked up the box, the sub was gone.
Frankly, this would have been pretty standard procedure if I was a sub captain.

They're on a deep sea phishing expedition.
