Was not a factor in his death.

So according to you, the left should love him for this. Is that not the case?

I read it twice and I still don’t understand his comment there, but I am not a smart politician or attorney. I only understand peasant language

There are more possible interpretations of that statement than for an Ezra Pound poem. Anyone, with any viewpoint, could like or dislike it.

Well there aren’t any other ways to interpret what’s said about 40 seconds in here:

YouTube

And I don’t even need to get into whether I agree or disagree with Johnson on this topic…..I have no problem seeing a bigger picture beyond this specific topic, and continue to have a very positive perception of MJ. I would reserve any unfortunate criticism regarding this specific topic to be directed towards some amongst us here instead.

Sounds like politician talk where you say a lot of words that have almost no meaning.

Yeah, sounded like it could have been any number of meaning or lack of meaning of other things.

My son in law and I had a long discussion on this subject.

If God says to love all men, then lets do exactly that

HOWEVER

How is that supposed to look? The imperfections of law enforcement and the extreme perpetrators of crime will always contribute to exacerbation of these situations - law enforcement because their job is SO DIFFICULT - and perpetrators because they are criminals.

So, love all men; red yellow black and white - and realize that our society is taking steps to make these kinds of things better. How does it look to that black man with the knee on his throat as he was ODing in an unrelated instance?

How does it look to the people of other races besides black who find themselves in such situations in numbers greater than that of blacks? There is also a statistical truth of who is involved at a rate beyond their statistical presence

Well I believe it looks like we need well trained police officers with as much consideration as they can muster given their hard job; I believe we need to KNOW ALREADY THAT PEOPLE OF ALL RACES will have mistakes of this sort occur; that we work for solutions that accent continually better outcomes for all men.

I also believe we are better off when a political party does not hand pick THEIR most useful of these terrible events to make use of to create as much agitation as possible to help their election chances - or to help their plans for stealing elections.

We have one such party that does this; one such party that uses one such race

What does success look like? Well correction of wrongs is the start; fostering better relations from all people is a part. And discouraging political use of these things

Then when these things happen, everyone works for better

everyone

better

I believe that Mike Johnson has those beliefs to one extent or another

and again, all the usual suspects on this board need to realize there will always need to be pragmatic decisions made by a SOTH

That was a week or two after the event. The facts at that point seemed to support Johnson's assessment. He probably should have couched his observations with "appears to be," but I don't have a problem with it.

One of his sons is black.

He has said that the black one faces a tougher road due to systemic racism.

He should test that out by having them get the same education and achieve the same GPA and then both apply for the same corporate job.

We all know which one will get the job.

The actual Floyd trial was fascinating. The jury knew from evidence that the cops didn't kill him. He was already down and dying from drugs. But the press only showed the video of cop on neck.

The jury saw the whole video and medical testimony that the cops didn't kill him and voted to acquit in conference but one juror said 'he should have called for medical help'. IE, the cops were guilty of neglect.
That persuaded the rest and they said guilty of neglect. The judge turned that into the murder conviction to save the city from destruction.
