Mike Johnson releases bill to fund government until after Midterms — Zero spending cuts.

House GOP leaders released text Friday for a bill to fund the vast majority of the federal government from the start of the next fiscal year on Oct. 1 until after the midterm elections — bypassing the bipartisan appropriations process and daring Democrats to pick a shutdown fight months before voters head to the polls. Speaker Mike Johnson said Thursday he plans to put the legislation on the floor next week.

The measure would fund the government through Dec. 4 and, as Republican leaders promised, would not include additional policy riders or unrelated provisions. The text released Friday also does not include President Donald Trump’s top policy priority, the partisan elections overhaul and voter ID measure dubbed the SAVE America Act. House GOP leaders are instead planning to attach the components of the elections bill to several other pieces of legislation heading to the floor next week — though all of them are expected to later be stripped out in the Senate.

Bait for the Dimocrats. They might just be dumb enough to take it.

Pretty sure there’s only been 1 rescission bill pushed and he promised there’d be 12, unless there’s been some pushed I’m unaware of.

And hilariously SealTeam45 blames Massie for spending years after a procedural vote.

First Trump Admin spent more than Obama. Second Trump Admin is spending at the same levels as Biden. Trump is a liberal New York City Democrat when it comes to spending. Always has been always will be.

I don’t disagree that he likes to spend, but this congress, just like the last congress during his first term, is going to do what it wants regardless.
Just look at that pork loaded housing bill.

It's also Trump that want's to almost double defense spending. If he gets his way (he won't) we'll add another trillion to our annual deficit.
He cannot push this onto Congress.

That dude’s been not cutting spending since he became the speaker. IIRC a large plank on his platform had been cutting spending.

Oh, are we pretending to be for spending cuts, again?
