Trump was a registered Democrat from 2001 through 2011, and at all other times in his life he has been a registered Independent or Republican.
Maybe he isn't the typical archetype of a "Republican" but he is far more of a Republican than former presidential candidates John McNoname and Pierre Dilecto Romney. Not sure why the bogus"he's a Democrat" line keeps getting used and reused.
