You get it.

I hope this comes back to bite McConnell in the arse. He deserves it.

Before there was a Tea Party, the Republicans in the House and Senate voted a combined 431-3 against The Affordable Care Act and the Stimulus. Yep, no difference.

That's because it was a really easy vote. It's easy to vote no on something 60% of the country opposes.

It's the smaller issues and behind the scenes stuff that shows they are all in it together.

McConnell probably hopes Mary Landrieu wins, like Republicans in this state

Really wish Matt Bevin would take him out
As long as McConnell is breathing, Bevin has not a chance in the world. That race has turned into a slaughter.

I don't get it either...the Tea Party guys are just conservatives who were elected specifically to stop the reckless spending. The establishment should be trying to mentor these new guys while respecting their stances, find common ground on which to work with, and show them the proper way to maneuver the political maze. It would bring the party together rather than break it up.

What's not to get? The GOP establishment, like McConnell, McCain and the like, don't want to stop the reckless spending. They have NOTHING in common with the Tea Party folks. They have LOTS in common with Democrats, which is why they won't go after Dems nearly as hard.

The truth of the matter is, gubmint spending runs that town, and guys like McConnell like their perks just as much, if not more, than their Dem counterparts.

McConnell makes my skin crawl ordinarily, but I have to say that these comments demonstrate some moxy. About time the GOP stands up to the fruitcakes.

Except McConnell is being McConnell.
He is simply nationalizing his his own race.
That's all.

If the Tea Party wins in MS (where it needs to) or elsewhere, McConnell will unapologetically rejoin cordial efforts with them. He and Rand have each others backs behind the scenes. A huge amount of Paul's antiBillClinton focus originated because Bill was in Ky campaigning against McConnell. Rand's assault on WJC crushed that effort. McConnell will support whoever wins.

Let you skin crawl some more.

I'm used to it. I keep a cortisone cream nearby at all times. On the other hand, I doubt that the country will ever embrace the current "true conservative" orthodoxy. The majority of the people really aren't onboard, imo.

Btw, as I type there's a very slick commercial on tv with a young girl touting the ACA website and how many affordable options she's found. You've lost the young'uns.

If that includes the bedroom and booze monitor wing, I hope you're right.

Yeah, if it's the bedroom and booze monitor wing, I'm out. I just want some fiscal sanity.

Republicans are slow to change. Thad Cochran is the largest earmarking senator on the country, but is expected to win his Mississippi primary with 80% of the vote against against the Tea Party opponent. People hate congress and government except for their own congressman.

It's all professional wrestling, these guys yell and scream at each when the cameras are turned on, but as soon as they're turned off boehner and McCain are having a cold one with Harry Reid laughing at the rubes who think there's a difference.
