I would hope Mitch wouldn’t be so stupid.

If they put the original DACA Trump and the republicans put on the table awhile back then that sounds good.

I bet it's a "promise" to consider the border wall in the next set of negotiations under the next (Democrat) Congress.

FML. Wasn't Charlie Brown on last night? That football, it'll get yanked.

Dude. You weren’t around. But Reagan granted annesty and then got fricked on border after. You probably gonna have to give something up. But we need it. It’s been 30 years. Build the wall.

If I remember correctly, Trump offered them more than they were asking for on DACA last time.

Ah I see.

We need the adults in the room to fix this process. It’s utterly ridiculous that this country can not operate under its normal budget process. Compromise and pragmatism has got to come back.

This is not the way to effectuate policy

It's because we have, among other things, the Kav deal to extend the hearings for the explicit purpose of interviewing a handful of witnesses fresh in our minds.

No sooner had the deal been struck the Dems started whining that there was not a full investigation, complete with an interview of Ford, who had just testified.

Promises are no good. Gotta be a done deal and Trump knows it. No one's word is any good in the US Senate.

If Mitch undermines Trump the Trump needs to go scorched earth. I would burn the GOP to the ground and then live the rest of my life in paradise.

Correct.

and the Dems said frick the DACA kids.

They don't want a solution, they need the DACA kids as a leverage tool. Nothing more than a pawn.

Watch Mitch pull some stunt by letting RBG retire and replace with a liberal.

Mitch caved. Absolutely no way the left does. They would get eaten alive by their lunatic base if they did
The right wing is threatening armed revolt. The left wing is threatening primaries, which seems less loony to me.

CBS News can confirm that Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) told reporters there is an agreement between Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell & Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on "what happens next if the Senate moves on the [continuing resolution],"

I actually wouldn't be opposed to this on its face (I prefer a split court) but it would have to come with more concessions than 5b for a wall.

So, it looks like this could end up at 1.6 for border security. Which is ..... exactly where it started

That would be a huge loss for Trump and GOP.
