I didn't like many of the man's policies but I wish him well.

I don't like the man , but I lost my Father to brain cancer and it is a shitty way to go. I hope he can do it as comfortable as possible.

Brain cancer isn't just sitting stagnant for a year. It's probably a fairly recent development.
