Maui Wildfires: Barricade Blocked Only Paved Road out of Lahaina

(AP) As flames tore through a West Maui neighborhood, car after car of fleeing residents headed for the only paved road out of town in a desperate race for safety.
And car after car was turned back toward the rapidly spreading wildfire by a barricade blocking access to Highway 30.
One family swerved around the barricade and was safe in a nearby town 48 minutes later, another drove their 4-wheel-drive car down a dirt road to escape. One man took a dirt road uphill, climbing above the fire and watching as Lahaina burned. He later picked his way through the flames, smoke and rubble to pull survivors to safety.
But dozens of others found themselves caught in a hellscape, their cars jammed together on a narrow road, surrounded by flames on three sides and the rocky ocean waves on the fourth. Some died in their cars, while others tried to run for safety.
Great article- lots of eyewitness accounts.

Yep, the brilliant police and city officials blocked the road leading to the death of hundreds of Americans.

Yes, I've been following him.
The amount of shite he is exposing is absolutely shocking.

Apparently Blue should be everyone's new favorite color.
Definitely something suspect about the fires

They never sounded their emergency alert system/alarm.
They turned off the water supply while residents were trying to fight the fires.
Blocked only way out of Lahaina during the fire
Corrupt governor happened to be off the island during the outbreak.
Corrupt Police chief formerly of the Las Vegas shooting saying the fire melted steel
Aid coming from locals, denied
Fema employees staying in $1000 per night hotels, while the Gov give the families $700 per household
The list goes on, and on..it reeks.

My first question on seeing this thread was "Why block/barricade a road LEAVING the area of the fire?"
Based upon the article, it seems that this road was unsafe, for two reasons: downed power lines and fire further up the road.
If that is true, it seems to make sense that first responders were directing folks to other routes.
No, I am not commenting on anything else about the fire. This issue just looked really odd to me.

Zuckercuck and co about to expand their Hawaii real estate empires.
From a non conspiracy view though, transportation officials are retarded during emergencies. I'm still haunted by the shite I saw evacuating Rita when the dumb asses in Harris County shut down all the secondary highways out of town and pushed millions of people into either I 45 or 59.

What secondary roads were closed? I don't remember that.

Katrina showed us one thing - the federal, state and local governments are not prepared to deal with natural disasters on the front end, during and on the back end.
Here we are almost twenty years later and the federal, state and local governments are still unprepared for natural disasters.
