True, but it’s not enough to vote …the pressure on non-supportive Senators needs to be aggressive and unrelenting.

Call/write your Senators …overwhelm them

This is AIPAC influence and pressure. Gaetz doesn't play ball with them and he is not owned by them unlike 75% of our government. When that much is compromised, it is no surprise where we are today.

That I agree 100% with.

"We sent you to work with Trump... now work with Trump. Or we'll send someone else."

Also... we REALLY need term limits in both the House and the Senate... say.. 3 6 years terms for the Senate and maybe what... 10 terms in the House? Nobody has any business being in either one of those for more than 20 years. And I'd be satisfied cutting that in half.

OR... make them both just like the President. The Senate, the House AND The Presidency shall each be elected to 4 year terms, not to serve more then two consecutive or non consecutive terms.

I think his nomination is a distraction from getting all the other ones confirmed. A sacrificial lamb so to speak. Let all the rancor be about him while everyone else just moves through. Trump loves a spectacle and this nomination is a great distracting spectacle.

By Trump starting a war with the Senate that he will not be able to win?

"But... we'll primary those that didn't vote to adjourn or confirm Gaetz"

Well... alot of them not for the next 4 or 6 years...

In the meantime... who controls the pursestrings? Who will be needed to write the legislation that will... say... do away with taxes on tips? Like it or not... Trump STILL needs the Senate to cooperate to get his agenda passed.

But then that would be poking a finger into the eye of anyone not in lockstep with him, now would it? And THAT'S what I think alot of you really want.

Too many people want to win the battle while ignoring the war.

Like was said yesterday, there is a reason recess appointments rarely happen in the first year of a presidency and pretty much never involve department heads.

He is getting in….Trump already had a deal in place. That is why he never made a recommendation for Senate leader. Trump is smarter and knows the game this time around. He is not fricking around.

My two senators (Kennedy/traitor-Cassidy) voted for Merrick Garland. If you're telling me they won't vote for Matt Gaetz, say no more. I mean, there was already ZERO chance I'd vote for Cassidy but I'm more than ready to put Kennedy in that number as well.

This is a great point and spot on.

The entire system is corrupt

It's called Advise and Consent. Trump can keep recess appointing Gaetz, but he will never have any credibility, and it would be used by Democrats in the midterms against Trump and Republicans.

Here’s Republicans who voted to approve Merrick Garland

Chuck Grassley
Joni Ernst
Mitch McConnell
Jerry Moran
Bill Cassidy
Susan Collins
Roy Blunt
Richard Burr
Thom Tillis
Rob Portman
James Lankford
James Imhofe
Lindsey Graham
John Thune
Mike Rounds
John Cornyn
Mitt Romney
Shelley Capito
Ron Johnson
Lisa Murkowski

If those jagoff can vote to approve Garland, they can vote to approve Gaetz.
