The Eight Rules of a Communist Takeover. One by One.

YT: The Complete Guide to the Russian Revolution

quote:

A century ago, left-wing radicals seized control of the Russian Empire and unleashed seven decades of ruthless terror, killing millions of people and inflicting untold human suffering. How did it happen? In this explosive episode of Real History, Matt Walsh traces Vladimir Lenin and the Bolsheviks' rise to power and draws striking parallels to America today. He also breaks down the left's "rules for revolution," detailing exactly how radical, resentment-fueled movements seize power.

A stupid war against Japan and then WW1 didn't help either.

isnt it amazing how we know down to the gnat's arse detail about the rise and fall of Nazism, but the history of the Soviet Union and its atrocities, which dwarfed Nazi Germany's, is basically a huge black hole in our collective cultural knowledge?

Liberalism and Progressivism makes sure that happens. They highlight the one and downplay the other. It is all the plan for a complete takeover

Well the same set of people were on opposite sides of the hammer in Russia and Germany. Once you notice who it is, it hard not to see it everywhere.

i was being facetious. of course that's why. Hollywood is made up of 1) Jews, 2) Lefties, and 3) Jewish Lefties. 75 years of propaganda has the majority of this country believing that Nazi Germany was just 1% away from modern American conservatism and that Soviet Russia was just sort of a funny thing that happened once.

I have always understood the marxist movement really has a problem with an armed society. Hence, American must not ever give up their guns. The right to protect yourself in inalienable.

No wonder Jews don't vote Republican.

Also, you're against a centrally planned economy with a cult of personality around its leadership? Trumpers are deranged

When your army is largely routed in about a month like at Tannenborg and then about a month or so later at the First Masurian Lakes then right after at the 2nd Mauritania Lakes....your government starts to lose credibility. Then when Germans go and fund Lenin so as to knock Russia out the war.

I'm sure that Walsh does not talk about how Lenin was a willing dupe to take Western money so that he could help the Germans by taking out the Tsar

Losing a major war to Japan just prior to that doesn't help either. Seeds of sociopolitical disaster were sown then.

Oh, without a doubt. Then compound your error by pledging unconditional support for the Serbs as theyvexecute a foreign leader who was probably the Tsar's distant cousin, then tempting his other cousin who had something to prove to his first cousin all because he had a withered arm and Grandma liked Georgie better.

I'm going to have to look up the stuff after your Gavrilo Princip/Archduke Ferdinand reference, but they really got themselves into to a mess.

i think he's saying that Russia's behavior in backing the Serbs after the assassination of the archduke made themselves an irresistible military enemy and target to Kaiser Wilhelm. of course the other side of this is that the Kaiser did basically the same thing by saber ratting all summer and providing unconditional support to Austria, which placed Nicholas in the position of either going to war in defense of the Serbs or being humiliated once again and almost certainly losing his throne.

That's legit.

After looking at it I'm realizing that I am not versed at all in the interrelatedness of the royal families across Europe. King George V and Kaiser Wilhelm were first cousins. Nicholas II and Wilhelm were third cousins, so that's the players he's referring to (I'm guessing you recognized this; i didn't know they were cousins).

Nicholas II and Franz Ferdinand were at most distantly related, but Pan Slavism was a thing, so Nicholas II believed Russia was the protector of Slavs and backed the Serbs.

I had always focused on the Balkan issue since it was the powder keg that put Europe at was, but the tensions between Germany (Wilhelm) and Britain (George V) were running very high at this time.

All of the royal families were related in Europe
