Neither disagree with me.

You can make a “no true Scotsman” argument for people who have identified as homosexual who have subsequently identified as straight. But that’s philosophically unconvincing.

You know and I know men who have wed women, fathered children through biological means (meaning their dick got hard while fricking a woman) and subsequently identified as homosexual.

There is nothing in the world that suggest sexual attraction is immutable. Be honest with yourself.

Not much. I have identical twins but one is larger and the other is smaller and autistic. They had twin to twin syndrome and we believe the syndrome caused the autism. They are completely different in attitude but I’m hypothesizing that since the one with autism sees everything differently, he has grown a different persona that otherwise would be very similar.

I believe that since the fall of man some people are more hardwired to be gay or to be alcoholics or to be gluttons, etc….

It is our responsibility to recognize our drive to sin and seek out God and declare that we alone are not enough and that we need God’s help and the blood of Jesus covering our sins.

I went to a church where there was a guy who said he had homosexual attractions.

When asked if he was gay he said no because he would not act on those attractions. He recognized that he was wired to desire something that was not Normal and was not right.

He went on to say that there was a time when he gave in to all his fleshly desires. That was his time before Jesus.

Jesus has a way of fighting the ship. Jesus has a way of transforming the heart.

And for that I’d say homosexual attraction may be hardwired in some people but the choice to act out is purely a choice.

A lot of aberrant urges are hard wired. I've never understood the argument that because it's hard wired that makes it ok.

Except all of science. You sound truly ridiculous

You can’t stop your innate attraction to women anymore than you could make yourself have sexual attraction to men. You’re not hardwired that way. Its what God intended for you.

Same with gay people.

Exactly my point. We are born into sin because of the fall of man. We must be born again to be released of that sin.

However being born again doesn’t mean that temptation stops.

Jesus was tempted. But he didn’t give in.

I am tempted daily. To say a bad word, to eat like crap, to make a joke at someone else’s expense. Sometimes I mess up.

But later I am remorseful.

Gay may very well be genetic. But so is alcoholism and we dont give those people a pass when they ram their car into a van filled with children headed home from summer camp.

I don’t think you know what the word “science” means.

The KSOG incorporates a variety of elements, including the possibility that a person’s sexual identity will change over time, and it includes emotional and romantic preferences as well as sexual attraction/behavior (The Klein Sexual Orientation Grid, 2014). Alcoholism is not “genetic.” People may be more prone to alcoholism because of genetics. They are not hardwired to be alcoholics anymore than Michael Jordan was hardwired to be a Hall of Fame basketball player.

God doesn't "make people gay".

They consciously choose to sin.

So this gay guy I know from 4th grade was choosing to sin? He was always feminine. GTFOH

I think you’re missing the point and playing a game of semantics.

Kinsey and his studies are no longer accepted as accurate — resoundingly.

His studies are a relic and should only be studied for their historical importance, much like Phrenology.

You’ve lost. You’re not making sense anymore or any valid argument, you’re just all over the place.

Nice chat. Do better.

Why does a genetic trait that makes you attracted to the same sex and therefore reduce your reproductive fitness be sustained over time?

Or even increase recently

Every bit of genetic science says that should be impossible. In fact it would be out of the gene pool in very few generations. It’s probably the most powerful example of a gene reducing reproductive fitness.

If you think it’s semantics to distinguish between things influenced by genetics and things caused by genetics, you will believe that homosexuality is “genetic.”

I'll give it a listen. But I reject the idea that a gay marriage is "equal" to a hetero marriage. That's preposterous as they are completely different things, formed for completely different reasons that serve completely different purposes. It doesn't mean I need or want to throw shade on anybody or prohibit carving out a "marriage" legal contract for gays, because I do, it just means that they just aren't, and never will be the same thing.

Respect for everyone though. Except Aggies, who are a little-known disreputable subset of LGBTQ4&8 that I endorse being bigoted against.

Matt’s views on marriage was the mainstream just 10-12 years ago - amazing how quick the libs have used socials to convince the society that sexual deviance is to be celebrated. Links Norm says - “Pride” ? I’m proud of my son for being a scholar athlete - the man with the gay son “That’s great I’m super proud of my son because ye likes sucking cock”
