Chance to do what? Write it out.

And how was this “chance” you speak of not attained?

Here Are The Concessions McCarthy Had To Make For Speakership

1. It will only take a single congressperson, acting in what is known as a Jeffersonian Motion, to move to remove the Speaker if he or she goes back on their word or policy agenda.

2. A “Church” style committee will be convened to look into the weaponization of the FBI and other government organizations (presumably the CIA, the subject of the original Church Committee) against the American people.

3. Term limits will be put up for a vote.

4. Bills presented to Congress will be single subject, not omnibus with all the attendant earmarks, and there will be a 72-hour minimum period to read them.

5. The Texas Border Plan will be put before Congress. From The Hill: “The four-pronged plan aims to ‘Complete Physical Border Infrastructure,’ ‘Fix Border Enforcement Policies,’ ‘Enforce our Laws in the Interior’ and ‘Target Cartels & Criminal Organizations.'”

6. COVID mandates will be ended as will all funding for them, including so-called “emergency funding.”

7. Budget bills would stop the endless increases in the debt ceiling and hold the Senate accountable for the same.

In response to the outcome, Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO), one of the holdouts, said in a statement that the anti-McCarthy Reps. "changed the way the government will be funded," and "changed the way committees will be formed."

Look at the post above yours by NC to see what he had a substantial hand in achieving.

Minimize and ridicule him all you want, Gaetz is doing work.

Matt Gaetz is a national conservative hero and apparently the OP does not like it. Gaetz is actually forcing changes in the House with his leadership

Exactly! Many on “the right” bitch and moan about Republicans not doing anything and being just like the Dems…no different they say…then someone like a Gaetz comes by and tries to do all he can as one member of the House and these same folks bitch and moan when he actually does something meaningful and takes action. It’s the likes of the OP that enjoy these moderate RINOs like his boy McCarthy who keep the Republicans from doing anything worthwhile in order to “get along” with the left, when we need someone fighting them in the gutter where the left dwells.

So many of these RINOs are nothing but a bunch of poons because they know the media and pop culture will come after them if they take an hard line stance of principles and they can’t take the heat.

I give to no one. Never will. They better work two or three jobs, on both sides if they want money. I’m not giving.

Just got out of the GOP today online and simply went "No Party". With Congress heads from California and New York I am done with the party system.
