Honestly I want to go on record saying it was probably another Asian, second guess - Muslim. Whites, blacks, and Hispanics are generally oblivious to the Lunar New Year.

I’m sure they have a Rolodex of plans for the next ones and the next ones.
They must create talking points for Dementia Joe.
BUT This one will be VERY personal, THE “AR-13’s” used here, killed some of his Overlords people in Chinatown.
Disclaimer: could have been me, I was in that very area last Thanksgiving week visiting in-laws & we went to Chinatown to do some shopping.
LA is like a Zombie Land, generally go once a year, but we spend most our time in Laguna & La Jolla, people are much different in Orange County & it’s heaven on earth scenery & weather wise.

They know it's a male, but no idea of it's race...suuuurrrrly not hiding that for stupid reasons. Really is a face-palm when they do this while looking for the person, so putting people in harm's way by not doing this.
Also...let's not forget CA just passed a law allowing victims to sue gun manufacturers, so quo up the lawsuits against whomever that is. Obviously it'll eventually make it's way up to SCOTUS, but still a hassle and costly for the gun maker. That will be focused on more than the race of the shooter. Odds are it was some kind of gang related hit.

I like the description of the chic in the bathroom. So she hears the gunshots ringing out.... she leaves the safety of the bathroom to come out and say "yoah dude, like whats going on with that gun and the three bodies at your feet?"

I've read reports where witnesses say the shooter was shooting indiscriminately. I doubt it was an Asian gunman. Asians hold their new year celebrations in high regard, which goes on for weeks.
