Fire them all and let the private sector sort them out.

If you’re talking about the military. Maybe. Otherwise, no.

We all witnessed Obama hire so many new people in two terms he turned red/purple Virginia into a blue state.

He exploded all Federal agencies.

We need to dial them back.

I would argue it isn't even the main point, and that's an easy sell.

Federal employees overwhelmingly vote Democrat …. a self-serving and time honored practice in DC.

It is interesting that you mention this, and you are right, the overwhelming labor pool of the feds is MD/DC/NoVA. This is how the deep state actually works. One of the benefits of working remote was that I as a second level supervisor in an agency, was able to hire remote people from OUTSIDE of DC. In 1 year I was able to bring in an employee from Florida and Oklahoma. This level of regional diversity is paramount in eventually killing the deep state. They are NOT going to move the FED out of DC, it is time to start moving the rest of the country in.

The talented ones are private contractors supplementing the responsibility of the agencies they are contracting with.

Bingo.

Let's say you have trees in your yard. Some of the trees are small, healthy and don't shed any leaves. Some of the trees are overgrown, old, sick and dump piles of leaves in the yard. Democrats want to keep all of the leaves, Republicans want to rake them up even though more just keep falling. Trump wants to cut down the problem trees with a chainsaw and in doing so nobody will have to worry about the damn leaves to begin with and we will all have a better yard.

The regulatory cost of sustaining all this crap is massive, yet unobvious to many in the country. Imagine for a moment all of the accounting firms all of their staff, buildings, files, and travel. Much of that exists to deal with the government. Everything we buy is much more expensive as a result. That's simply one example.

I've heard regulatory costs add roughly 20% to the cost of goods and services in this country.

As per Thune and Elon only 4% shows up for work since Covid. So a least maybe 50% are not needed

That's pretty easily true. Imagine further, any infrastructure project with federal funding. Go look at the requirements to even be allowed to perform that work. Artificially inflates wages, dictates the composition of the work force, makes liars out of business owners who falsify their ownership, etc.

If we cut down to the Constitution and push everything else to States, we could probably cut 75-80% of the Feds.

Now do a chart on the number of federal employees still working remote. So remote that in some cases they have left DC and are still drawing a check.
