Who was president when ole Miss last won a national title in football.

And how old were you?
I was not born yet but was it Eisenhower?

I know he's a Sooner fan, so he won't see it, but it's pretty ironic that OP is using a win streak from the 1950s against Big Eight teams to demonstrate how the Sooners are more SEC. In fact, Oklahoma did not face a single SEC team during that streak.
At that time the SEC wasn't anything really special.
I think he was 0-3 vs OU. Two losses in College Station.

Congrats. 3 titles. The whole of your conference sucks. Your fan bases suck. Your stadiums suck. Your tailgating sucks. The states your teams are in suck. You drink shitttty beer and wake up next to fat women. We have better fans, better stadiums and the women in one SEC state are hotter than the Big 10 as a whole.

Dayum...

Does the Big 10 even have 5 good teams?
its not always about "great" teams. Some benefit from schedule:

1. OSU
2. Indiana
3. Oregon
4. Penn State (They have a ridiculously easy schedule) They don't play OSU, Indiana or Oregon.
5. I think a team going 9-3 may have a chance.

In reality I think is the four I listed above.

"Oklahoma will be better than most". -Bob Stoops quote from several years ago; repeated by Stoops many, many times.

This. OU's backfield will be above average, perhaps even really good, especially if the OLine is finally consistent this year. But the OU offense does not feature a running back. Several backs get snaps and they use the pass to open up the run. They will never be considered in a top backfield rating until this changes. It's also why we always get the top all purpose backs and not the top rated bell cow type backs.

Think about if Kewan Lacy had stayed at Mizzou. Would be an all time 1-2 punch with him and Hardy.
Now it is unlikely Hardy plays this season.
OU has a solid class, top 3 I believe.

Did Mark Mangino win one?
Nope, he was the OC at OU for theirs.

Never heard of that when I was there.

Who was hiring Widenhofer after 2000?
He was 5-17 (1-15) at Vandy (2000-2001)

The same OSU who retroactively awarded themselves the 1945 CFB National Championship. The same year Army won it unanimously.
And this wasn't even a close case, Army had a MUCH better resume.

It was a great coup by the B1G, even Sankey would have jumped at the chance to add Los Angeles.
I think this fails in the end. The geography is horrible, the culture is horrible.
Agreed! They are both flagship schools for the state they are in.

These irrelevant sports were what allowed Okie Lite to handle the 90 losses in football.

Archie Manning says the media's expectations for Texas QB Arch Manning last season were unfair:

"They crowned Arch before he ever played."
So the family used their name to drum up that hype during his recruiting... and then blame everyone else for the end result.
LSU winning in Baton Rouge, and its not even close. Mainly because the USMNT has a microscopic chance of winning the WC.
